SST/AP Question

Can someone tell me how the AP works with a cars rom? I understand Cobb software doesn't access some of the SST tables that Ecuflash does. If you were to tune for your SST with Ecuflash, would those changes be kept if you did an Accessport tune afterwards? I have a feeling this is a pipe dream.

Are you trying to find out if you can tune the TCU with Ecuflash, and tune the ECU with the AccessPort without any conflicts? Even if you have to tune the SST tables that can be modified with an AccessPort and the rest of them with Ecuflash that would be fine with me. If that is what you are asking then I am subscribing to see if that is possible.

Yes. Basically I want to know if the AP rewrites the whole rom or only the tables you can calibrate on ATR. The only reason I'm not using the AP is because Cobb software doesn't access enough of the SST tables.

Thanks for reminding me sir. Here is the response from Cobb to the main question posed in this thread:

"There's some logic that's going on in the background, but with regards to any tune-able tables, only the tables listed in Accesstuner are the ones modified."

I'm going to test this out by flashing with an AP after a good SST tune with Ecuflash. I'll try to log the tranny slip before and after all the tuning. Someone on here can probably do this already. I'm a month or two out from being able to complete this myself. If it works I will keep using an AP for the things I like it for; logging, monitoring, and switching maps.

When slowing down to 20mph or less, then start to accelerate in sport full manual mode.

Car shifts from 2-4 it's really pissing me off bad, Cobb has been zero help.

I only used the v3 to have some ability to change maps.

Should have left open source.

I was getting some random up shifts in manual mode with the AP too. Did you go straight from your open source tune to the Cobb tune, or did you go to the stock tune first?

Open source no issues at all. Cobb a total & complete nightmare. I've had it tuned 2x with the Cobb thinking the tuner was the problem. Now I'm stuck with running bill & a pos Cobb

Ok, at least Cobb stated that much. I will stay tuned to this thread hoping for the best. I am still hoping this is possible as being able to monitor the AP accessible values through the AP and being able to switch maps is a huge advantage for me over having to keep a laptop in the car.
