Possible Evo XI?
I had an Evo 8
I now have an Evo 10
Same track, same skill level (which is open/advanced class, 15+ years of track and instructing experience), a little less mods, my 10 was faster than my 8 (05 Evo 8 with ACD and LSD)
You must have forgot Evo X : AYC for quick lap times
Evo IX : skill and talent for quick lap times.
Not here to start a argument, if the 11 comes about I hope that it has the edginess of a 8 or 9, and the refinement of a X.
Magnetic ride control perhaps, to truly live up to the name :
EVOLUTION.

The 8/9 vs X debate is a silly one. I would love to add a X to my collection of vehicles some day.
I can't tell you how many times I have googled for evo parts and that engine or the Harley pops up instead. Obviously they named that bike in honor of the Lancer Evolution

I track with a friend that has an EvoX. His car is similarly modded and runs similar power levels. He used to have more tire (255 vs 275 NT01's). I could put in faster laps than him, but usually only by about 1/2 second. But it really required me to push hard. Certain corners his car simply carries more speed at the apex, I have to make up for it by being more aggressive on entry and exit.

The main reason with increased weight in newer cars is newer crash test standards/requirements. To make cars pass higher new standards, more weight is added. The XI will never have the feel of the IX, because of the newer crash test standards. Added power & tech. is needed to offset the weight, but some feel will be taken away.
It would be nice if some of the things that other car manufacturers do to keep weight down can be incorporated in the new XI so the weight can be very close to the X. BMW has done it with the 3-series.

I don't know if this article has been seen on Evom, but will post for those who have not.

Is there a source where Mitsubishi directly made a statement in regards to this? So far it just seems like speculation to me, as I haven't found any official source from Mitsubishi.
There isn't and there won't be until they're ready to officially announce the car. Anything you read or hear is speculation.
