05 MR 5k Rev Limiter... Launching

Well I launched my car for the 1st time today and didnt have any problems... i launched hard enough to bang my head hard against the soft recaro seats.....i guess the people that complain are the ones that just rev to 7k and dump the clutch....

hmmm i wonder how many people here have tried and failed and tried and succeeded with a good launch with the 5k limiter.... im used to this bc on my white 03 i had set the launch control to 5200rpms with the aem ems so 5k on my MR it wasnt to difficult

Yeah, I wouldn't expect it to be any more difficult since I launch at about the same RPM..

I was rolling a tiny bit and launched and it revved to 5300., then I tried it from complete stop and the rpms felt heavier and it didnt pass 5k.

Now that my advans are 5k miles in its alot easier to launch

What about if we could raise it to 5500 ?

I wonder what the ideal rpm for luanching will be ?

This really needs to be user adjustable to be effective, and then I can see it as being very usefull and worthwhile!

Ideal rpm depends on Tire/track/torque/clutch/flywheel way to much for there to be ideal setting for even identicle cars.

my evo I leave at anywhere from 4800 to 6200rpm depending on the track and tire.

on my talon I leave as high as 7500rpm with it's pansy stock turbo power level.

this is different on every type of driver and def different on what setup the driver is running... with my 03 evo with the GT35R i had to launch at 5100-5200.. any less than the car would bog and anymore the car would just spin its tires.....

when my 03 was on stock turbo i was able to launch it anywhere from 4k to redline... launching at lower rpms requires good clutch control or youll burn you clutch or bog your car or both...

with my MR i can launch pretty good now around 4500rpms

I would really like to have my launch controller set at 4500 rpm and then take off.

I know Ihateporsche got his set at 6000rpm and all he does is just let go of the clutch and go.

Well, really I start slipping it and then I dump it.
Maybe it is so fast that it looks like I am dumping it...
