Whats up guys, i got this kid with a 92 mustang gt, with intake, headers, exhaust and i think gears. He thinks all foreign cars are gay. He thinks my car is crap. Im putting on my turboback exhaust this week. What do you guys think. Will i have any prob beating him. Off line i should have no problem. I ran a 13.5 bone stock six months ago.

 

depends on the driver, that body style is lighter than the newer ones, and depending on the gearing he could get into the 12's maybe if thats all he has. unless he told u thats all he has, hahaha ive seen a 92 run 10's n/a

 

He probably has a 13 second car. What was your sixty foot time when you ran a 13.5?

you will crush him! my friend's 5.0 has all that plus more w/slicks and his best ever at e-town was 13.2. when i told him that evos do that stock his face got all red. he has been doind serious work on it since then(stroker and yada-yada-yada).

You should of seen my roomates friend when I whooped his LS1 with cam. his red confused face was priceless.

 

ive gone up against a fox body 5.0 with similar work you have listed. it was a pull from around 45 and i always stayed about 1.5 lengths head while my car very slowly gained more and more distance... alot depends on drivers performance aswell.

 

well i am a proud owner of an 87 5.0 and i know everything about these cars. From the mods you listed above for his 92 i would say his times should go as follows.
w/slicks and good driver: 13.5 - 13.7
w/slicks and ok driver: 13.8 - 13.9
street tires and good driver: 13.9 ish
street tires and ok driver: you will beat him without a launch and shifting at 5500rpm

*now keep in mind for every 100lbs lost its a .10th off these times. A stock 87-93 5.0 will come in at 3550lbs with driver and 1/2 tank of gas.

My guess at what he will run is a 13.8 at 100mph lemmo know how close i am

if i were you....i would just ignore him...
it makes no sense to debate with an idiot as him.

but if you really want to kick his ***...remember one thing, EVO is not that strong for high end. so beat him on the street or mountain, not on the freeway...

otherwise...sell your EVO, get a used supra, do little, then u would have no worries.

Nah with jus those mods i dont think he will be able to pull on a stock evo on a freeway. Im not sayin the evo will pull away either but i think the evo will still have a slight edge top end.
