Unhappy Can someone help me

Last night i went to the track for the first time ever and ran what i thought to be very dissapointing numbers. I know i can improve my launch but even still i think my numbers are slow for my mods. Heres a list of what i have on my car plus my track time. Tell me what u guys think is goin on here

Mods 3in turbo back with test pipe, injen intake and intercooler pipes, turbosmart bov, Hks 272 cams, mbc set at 1.4 bar, 93 oct gas, dynoflash mail in ecu, act clutch

my run 60ft - 1.90
1/8 8.589 @ 82.50
1000ft 11.233
1/4 13.4 @ 103.02

Like i said i know it shouldnt be a great run but doesnt it seem like i should be around 12.9? with that 60ft

Yeah, it's way more than the 60'. Your mph in the 1/8th and at the 1/4 are way too low. Those are stock '05 speeds. For reference, I hit 13.17@103.89 with a worse 60' (1.92), so you're missing a lot of power. It may be that you have a basic mail-in flash with cams, injen intake, and VTA bov (well, it's half and half, I think). It's better to have a custom tune...you should be making 110mph on pump gas easily, unless you are at 5000' elevation MAYBE.

yup, mph seems quite low. I would expect 110mph or so with those mods correctly tuned.
not just the 60' time that is off.

I would get the car on a dyno to check power output and AF ratio before doing anything else.

and get some practice in the driving...that's always free and fun.

Oh snap I didn't see the MPH. It's definately more than the launch that's holding you down. I trapped around 112 with similar mods.

Well i just went outside and tried the car out. IT seems that my boost is falling from 1.4 bar to 1.1 in 3rd and 4th gear. It seems to be a gradual thing as rpms rise to redline. Does this seem like a boost leak or soemthing with my bov. Also how much difference can a custom tune make over the mail in one in case i want to decide to try that?

A custom tune can make a big difference. I based dyno'ed at 254 whp with a mail in flash and then put down 289 whp after it was custom tuned. That was all on the same day. So roughly 30 whp difference between the two. I would say that is quite a bit.

don't worry about 1/4 miles time cuz the Evo is made for the touge (twisty mountian roads). The handling and steering response is so excellent, and also a lot of people break thier evo's by launching/drag racing. next time go to a track event at a track with turns and such

The stock BOV has been known to leak once the boost is turned up. You might want to try maybe the JDM MR bov. It's suppose to hold boost without leaking. I have a custom tune by Al and it made a big difference from my mail in I had.

It would help to list where you live and what elevation you are at along with temps, etc.
