Well seeing as he has spent a good amount of money to improve the power and accelleration of the car, I think he should be interested in finding out why it's not nearly as fast as it should be.

The evo might be a good road race car, but it's an excelent drag racer as well. Evo owners are starting to **** me off with this "evo is a roadrace car, you shouldn't drag race it" mentality just as much as Supra owners are all about "dynoqueen bench racing".

I am always wary of vent to atmosphere bov's on mass air cars. That will screw up the MAF readings during and after every bov opening. That can make a substantial loss of power directly after each shift and hurt your et and mph.

If it were my car, that bov would be the first thing on ebay..(replaced with a greddy rs or MR bov)

Second thing I would do is get a dyno appointment with someone who car assess and reflash the ecu with a specific tune for your car.

don't let all those big $ mods go to waste becuase of tuning.

I would think the tune is the major problem... most tuners tune cars to be safe, not exactly the fastest. It should obviously make the car faster substantially but sometimes they add in a little too much fudge factor it seems. Your timing and AFR's are probably designed to be able to be beat on all day everyday and never need to worry about guages and whatnot.

I am not a pro tuner either so I dont know that much about it but I am learning. I also agree with the VTA BOV's... I wouldnt do it unless you convert your car to MAP or blowthrough. It seems to screw with too much crap.

Lastly you should look for the obvious things like boost leaks. You should try to get the car on a dyno with someone that could tune it further if needed also. If your dyno numbers seem good then it is probably more with the VTA thing. Your driving will also affect it slightly.

And lastly I agree with the whole your car is not designed for that BS. Who cares what you use your car for? He likes to drag race let him. I like to drag race.. I also like to go around corners. I personally dont understand Auto Cross but some people like it so cool... its just not for me. Let people drive it the way they want to
