How does your car idle just out of curiousity? Mine idles fine once it actually catches the idle but sometimes dips too low before it can catch it and will die or ALMOST die. Does yours do the same? Did you raise the idle? Is my car just strange?
I still have the stock FPR and like I said 28 psi no problems with 660cc injectors. My car dies all the time at idle. Nothing can be done without stand alone so I will just have to deal with it. It use to be waay worse before the dynoflash though. It would run like complete *** on cold starts, now at least it does decent. I tried running my 880cc injectors and it was a joke it wouldnt even run.Originally Posted by TrinaBabe
I also tried to use it to lower the base fuel pressure to help the car idle better... it didnt work

I still need to get the boost sensor so I can see what my boost is really at past 25psi.. my guage tops out at 25 so I dont really know what I am truly running boostwise but i want to get the car set up at around 28psi or so... or whatever it will take to make power that I am confident is CAPABLE of running a 10.99 and then just work on my driving.
I got the launching part down now.. the stutterbox takes alot out of the equation. I can build around 10psi off the line and now just spin all 4 tires to the point where smoke pours out the wheel wells. I may need to think about lowering the tire pressure alot at the track to try to help traction but I dont know how much help to the launch will hurt the top end of the track. Trial and error I guess :P
Don't bother playing with tire pressure on a radial tire. you need to fine tune the launch rpm if your using a secondary rpm limit. If your getting 4 wheel burnout type launches, it's way to high. Start taking 100rpm out of the launch rpm at a time and test at the dragstrip. Everyday streets have far less stick than a preped track, so the same rpm might do big burnouts on the street, then dead hook and bog at the track.Originally Posted by TrinaBabe
I am using the Utec. I have an aftermarket regulator so I can further adjust fuel pressure if needed... when I start running real high boost I think I would over run the injectors so this way I can 'cheat' and just raise the pressure more. I have 780cc injectors and at 22psi on pump gas they are at about 85% duty cycle at the top (7,800 rpms or so). I am no where near maxxing them out yet but I am thinking around 30psi or so they may start to get close without me raising the pressure more. on my car using the AEM EMS for the launch 2step, I only have to vary the launch rpm between 5500 and 5900 to get consistent 1.65 to 1.57 60' times. when you hit that ideal rpm, the car will pull out with just a hint of tire noise and absolutly no bog in engine rpm.
getting your 60' times down makes awsome gains in the ET. well worth the effort to improve the launch.
The problem with my launching is I am not used to this big a damned turbo... with the stocker I could pull off 1.7's all day long with no problem and no stutterbox type thing. With this big honker I pulled off consistant 2.0's and every once and while a 1.9. I put in the launch control and I can now get decent launching out of it 1.80's and 1.79's but the tires spin.. sometimes alot and sometimes not too much. On the street it is stupid.. they just will not hold at all. The launch is normally around 10psi of boost or so. I dont know how I could lower the launch too much before it bogs. I can still bog it out pretty good if I let the clutch out too quickly and this is launching at 5,750. It is easier for me to launch the car at 6k but the tires seem to slip slightly more. I am going to the track again on Sunday so I will see if I can get it better. I had tons and tons of issues with shifting that are not mechanically, solved I think. Now I just need to hone in my driving and get some decent runs.
I have heard that every .1 second in the 60 results in about a .2 second off the et but I can not fathom how people get 1.5-1.6 60's without slicks. Anyways... I will try to film alot of my runs next weekend and maybe you guys can critique my crap driving. I watch some of the runs that I did last weekend which were horrid but even after watching them it doesnt seem THAT bad of driving to result in such crappy times.
I guess I have only gone to the track 3 times in my life also so I suppose some practice will get me closer to where I should be. Next weekend I better hit the elevens or I will be very upset. :P Thanks for all the pointers everyone...
I have raised my rev-limiter to allow for a higher trap and fixed my lockout shifting problem so we will see what I can do now. Just out of curiousity... do people actually slip thier clutch slightly between shifts or just bang it in gear? I can't seem to slip the clutch between shifts and have a quick shift at the same time but when I just bang it in there the car jerks around a bit before it pulls again. How do I get rid of that and make it seem nice and smooth like all the quick guys? :P

I have gotten about 4 or 5 1.6xx 60' times. The track is prepped very well. It is just the perfect amount of clutch slip that gets you the nice 60' times. I can hit 1.7 60's pretty easy. 1.8s suck for me. I run 32psi in the front and 29 in the rear btw.Originally Posted by TrinaBabe

trinababe,u have to much wheel spin, lower ur air pressure.my drag radials i run at 20psi...u need to get whp to the ground, tires are a BIG key, play with ur air pressure and slip ur clutch...a 2 step is also a big key to a good launch.
