We were amazed how much faster it spooled after we heat treated the turbo, header and downpipe.Under hood temps feel cool in comparison. Im at full boost ,32psi,at 5000rpm.

How does heat treating the turbo and DP help the flow efficiency? I know cold air is more dense, but that doesn't always mean better flow... Or does it?

I dont know how it works bro,but it does.I first heard about a Porsche team, heat treated 1 motor and 1 they didnt, heat treated all parts ..pistons,cylnders,valve train, head ports, header, turbo and dwnpipe, that motor made 150 more h.p.!!Thats why I do it..Iknow the header hardly feels hot et all, compared to no treatment.I guess heat does robb power!

Heat treating will help in a couple ways. On the exhaust gas side the heat treatment will help keep the energy in the exhaust as opposed to escaping as heat. The turbine side of the turbo is turning that heat into work so it's desirable to keep the heat in. The increased heat keeps the exhaust gas velocity up and will help spool as well. Of course you also get the added benefit of decreased temperature under the hood which should decrease your intake temps a bit.

By the way Tony tuned my AEM too and he did a damn good job. By the way this isn't Andreas is it???

So what exactly do they do when they "heat treat" the parts?
