get your **** flashed to run 8500 rpm limiter and you will be able to hit over 100 mph in 3rd. That is what I do and I hit 98 mph in the 1/8th, which I assume is 3rd or else it would be slower. BTW I have stock block with headstuds and a stock head except 272 cams.

98mph would be pretty high rpm in 3rd if that's even possible.. I was trapping 85mph

oh its possible. I have hit 105 mph in 3rd gear hitting the 8500 rpm limiter. I use AEM to log my vehicle speed which is how I know.

Is the turbo actually doing anything at 8500 rpm?

Err that didn't make sense.. I was hitting redline at the finish line. I don't think the stock turbo would be doing much at that high rpm.. and I don't think the stock drivetrain would like that eitehr.

That's what I was thinking. With 264's, I rev my car to 7500 and that is about it. I hit rev limiter once at the track just to see what it would do. It didn't seem to help.

I just need to decide if I'm going to drive 80 miles round trip for GT100 gas or just go to lowes and pickup some xylene or toluene (whichever they have) hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Tonight is my first time i'll have ever ran the 1/8 mile. My 05 is bone stock. Could someone give me some pointers? What are some numbers that i should be aiming towards? It's about 65 degrees and we only have 92 oct. around here. I read something about oct. booster??? Would that help or would that just make things worse since i'm stock?

I can't give you any advice launching your car cause of the rev limiter thing the 05's have, but from what I've read people have been having a litle trouble getting really good 60fts. out of them. If your car is stock 92 octane should be just fine. You won't need to run a higher octane unless your cranking the boost up.

Good luck.

I got GT100 gas for 3.29 a gallon! Thats 20 cents more than 93! I filled the car completely up with it

Will post up new time slips by this time tomorrow.

Ok I left the slips out in the car and i'm in my girls dorm.. don't feel like checking out/in again but I ran:

7.8@90mph with a crappy 1.8 60' I've finally figured out how to launch the car and they stopped the racing because of a little bit of fog

I'll post the actual time slips up tomorrow.

Congrats man. I guess I'm gonna have to put some race gas in my car just to see what it will really run. If my car isn't in the body shop in a few weeks I'll be hitting up the 1/4 mile track in Bowling Green. I'm tired of the 1/8 mile.

I hear that.. I wouldn't mind the 1/8 mile but the track here is really crappy.

60ft 1.8393 - 1.8770
330ft 5.1491 - 5.2361
1/8 7.8782 - 7.9931
MPH 88.73 - 89.28
