Going back to the track tomorrow! Nice cool temps upper 50's for tomorrow

Changes:

Blizzak LM-22's (yeah i know)
20G-9
P&P mani/o2
upper ic
intake pipe
injectors
koyo radiator
new custom tune w/2step launch

These tires are pretty worn so they are actually more of an all season.. track has a new owner now so there may even be signs of track prep this year haha. My goal is 7.5@whatever for starters.

I'll post up a new thread if things turn out as planned

With those mods, I'd say 0.4 - 0.6 secs quicker and 89 - 93mph

Good luck....

I ran a best of 7.9 @ 87mph just switching to stock rims and 272's from last years 8.1 @ 84 mph with 264's and 18's.

Well it was just too crowded.. They were trying to do too many classes. For some reason those big blocks like to screw with my knock sensor while in staging lanes.

I only got a couple runs.. only one decent launch (didnt have time to get used to 2step)

1.8051
5.0880
7.7550
91.86

I know I can do better.. I need some summer tires and more practice

Nah....you just need some more practice. I've pulled 1.7's and my buddy pulled 1.68 on our all seasons. Just got to get a technique going for yourself.

My buddy ran a 7.65 @ 90mph on pump gas with his 03' and the 9.8 hotside. I'm sure with prcatice you will get faster. Nice times.

Well I'm going back to the track tonight (hope it doesnt rain). I've been working on my 1-2 shift some lately.

Same mods minus the HKS DL-II which was causing some ignition issues. I will be on 110 octane mix (normally I use 100 to mix). Also going to try bringing the tire pressure down a couple psi (I normally run a couple extra lbs to improve fuel economy plus I'm still on my winter tires)

Good news. I didn't break any time records but my overall driving is getting better.

First of all there was light rain tonight. I was suprised they let us run but the track was in good shape.. kinda slick but not super bad. I'm also on Blizzak LM-22 with a lot of miles on em.

Also this was on pump gas... well 1 gallon of 112 which boosted me up to a whopping 94.5 octane. I ran 24psi. My 7.75 was on race gas with slight ignition problems and upwards of 26-28psi. I really need some boost logging so I can get it set right -- or an EBC.

1.7531 60' (my best yet!)
5.0632 330'
7.7970 1/8
89.46 mph

As you can see My trap is down like 2.4mph yet my time is damn close to my previous attempt. Next run out will be good on race gas Once I hit 7.5 or better I'll be ready for some 1/4 mile fun.

Getting better! I can't wait for my custom tune and some good ol 100octane.

I think your trap speed is a little low for the mods, but part of it could be in the track conditions.

Yeah I thought so too. With the race gas I was trapping like 92 with ignition troubles. I'm only trapping 89 on pretty much pump gas which is basically what I trapped with the stock turbo. I'll give race gas another go next week.

I need to play more with shift points -- All my runs yesterday I was shifting into 4th right before the end because I don't feel safe taking the car to 8000 rpm. Not to mention I'm not making anymore power at the high RPM's with the 20G.

I'm shifting around 7000-7200.. anyone have any recommendations? I do think my 2step being set at 5800 may be a little low.. Having it at 6000 would probably help out a bit. My 1-2 shift is pretty damn good now... Where the rain was coming down I was spinning a little bit when I would hit 2nd.

Not many street cars break 7's on test and tune nights at this track so that helps me feel a little better about myself lol.

You could try WOT shifting but the drivetrain doesn't like it too much if you do it a lot. I trapped 88mph hitting the stock rev limiter in third before the line. I've had my car bark second gear at the drag strip.
