Wasn't satisfied with E-town, so I went to MIR...

Congrats on the times not much longer and you will have hit your goal.

The good news is that I beat my old best time of 12.228 on 4 separate passes today in the extreme heat at Maryland International Raceway.

My two best were both 12.153, one at 110.7 and the other at 109.50.

The reason why one had only 109.50 mph was because I got to the rev limiter in 4th a bit sooner due to the much better 60' and the longer I'm on the limiter, the lower my mph is. The one with 110.7 didn't hit the limiter until right at the finish line, so I was at the max allowable mph in 4th. I have now hit 110.7 4-5 times with the highest being 110.78, so this has to be the limit in 4th on the stock ECU.

It's interesting how the faster mph run had a crappy 60' (1.76), but that I made up that .06 difference off the line gradually at each waypoint, so either my shifting was better or the car was just running at that boost level more smoothly. On one of my runs I was breaking up at full boost, so I slapped in my first set of replacement plugs (BPR8ES), and then ran the 2nd 12.153 that had the bad 60'. I probably needed the plugs earlier, because I kept feeling a slight hesitation after my hard shifts the moment the boost spiked, but I had thought it was timing. There was no pulled timing in my logs, so maybe it was the spark getting blown out or the stock plugs getting toasted. I ran better afterwards, but now I'm getting some misfires on street boost/gas/tune, so I'll need to get some BPR7ES for daily driving I think.

Last thing...I'm not sure why I can't hit a 1.6x 60'. MIR was way sticker than E-town, so I was able to hit several 1.70 60's (best ever so far), but there were a few times where I launched too hard and got 1.76s with slight tire spin. E-town was a joke - I was spinning all 4 through most of 1st gear. Perhaps my method isn't good enough for 1.6s on this setup, or maybe it was the heat...I don't really know. All I DO know is that the best I could have gotten on a perfect run would have been maybe 12.10 or 12.09. I have no chance at 11s without some mid 1.6x 60's...or maybe if it's 65-70 degrees instead of 95. We'll see later in the year...
LOL, Ba$tard!! You have done it again.. Good job Warrtalon, you always show good skills at the track.
Congrats on your run, you are truly flying and setting a benchmark with your mods and times.

Keep up the good work!!

Nice times warr., Im going out on the 27th to get my first 11 second pass. I just installed my 660cc injectors and car is running awesome. i raced an r6 from a dig last night and he couldnt pass me until I let off at 120. Hoping to hit 11.7 next time at the track. Hope to see you in the 11s soon. Id say your next mod for sure needs to be a flash with 8300 redline. Im suprised you cant get a 1.6 60ft. Beings the shorter first gear than me. Keep praticing. I changed my lauch style a little now that Ive got more power. Im lauching around 6000rpms and barely I mean barely am slipping it with full throttle. Seems to work. 1.65 last time i went out. Keep us posted on the progress.

Yeah, I can't figure it out. I come out of the hole hard as hell, but then it's like I grip completely before finishing 1st and it slightly bogs before finishing 1st. It's hard to explain, but it's like this:

1) 6000-6500rpm feather launch
2) Car squats and rips off the line at full boost with minimal/slight tirespin
3) After the initial surge off the line, the tires catch fully and the rpms drop just a little (like a mini-bog) and the boost drops some
4) This is where I either stay in 1st until it hits full boost again and goes over 7k rpm, or I do a short-shift/snap-shift to 2nd. If I stay in 1st longer, then when I shift to 2nd, I'm right in the sweet spot. If I do the short shift, then I'm solidly in 2nd and boosting again, but it's not quite the sweet spot. I haven't figured out which is better or why I have that mini-bog after the initial launch...

No, it was just installed quite well. I haven't had trouble shifting with it from the moment I picked it up.

Why don't you get your ECU flashed for a higher rev limiter?

Because it costs money, is detectable by the dealer, and adds another mod to my list that I'm trying to keep as small as possible. Seriously, though, I would love it if I could JUST get my rev limit raised, but Al hasn't seen the value in having his name on the first USDM MR to hit 11s, so that hasn't worked out yet. Maybe Jeff Hill and the TT boys would be interested...perhaps ole Jestr down where you are?
