I don't know of any Evo guys stateside running the KAAZ, but I can name about 6 or 7 serious road race guys that are serious about their front Torsen and the turn in they got out of it.

I was under the impression that clutch type differentials were alot stronger than torsten type differenetials. Evodave really is looking for a stronger part that will take drag launches, more than he is looking for cornering traction/handling benifits.

Evodave,

Is your car a 03-04?, I am trying to put my own statistic together, I am basicly helping to find out if the differential/transfer case was more like the first EVO8 issues or is something that the 05 Evo8 are carrying on as well.

Thanks!!

my experience wiht the kaaz and drag racing is that it is a pos. i've broken one (shattering all four spyder gears) in my other car even when it was making only about 350-400 whp. My quaife on the other hand has been rock solid even with 600 whp. I know a lot of people running quaifes for drag and they are reliable.

So the '05s have the front LSD and would not have this problem with breaking the front diff, correct?

Bro, a cheap alternative to a fron LSD would be the TRE Spider Gear conversion. TRE also has a diff selection for a good price also that they can do.

Dave let me know how that comes out. I have this grand plan Im executing to go all at once into the realm of a bad-a$$ vehicle.

Just the same, Im going to need a super quick turn around on those headlights you do such a great job on. Can you mimic the black-chrome look of the new Evo 9 JDM lights? We'll talk another time about that.

Im really interested whether or not Cusco has any diffs available...apparently their RS units are SERIOUS. But expensive...so let me know what the end price comes to and what you got with it. Best of luck bro

Evodave,

I just want to make a remark that there is a Evo 8 MR running 9.77@145 and that they are using the stock tranny with a Jun Transfer case. So far it seen to be a bullet prrof for 715WHP.

You might want to try the JUN transfer case.

Good luck!!
