learned to launch

still though its unforgetable once u do it right....also i once only once made the tires spin on second gear? dont know what that hell that was...my friends said it looked like a video game
Today after I worked out some boost control issues I took a test drive with my brother to make sure everything was cool, which included a launch, which my brother described as just like a "free fall"
You need to find the "in between" of slipping the clutch and spinning the tires to a certain point. Once you find that "in between" and can repeat it regularly, you will never look back again.
Whatever you do, DO NOT let the front tires "hop" while launching. Wheel hop can and will cause damage.

enlighten me

You must release the clutch until it is about to catch (to release the tenson of the drivetrain) and slip the cluch quickley and at the same time pin the gas petal and thats it. I got it on my second try.

I'm pretty sure theres no 2005 1/2 model year, all the 2005s have the rev limiter.

1) I never said that was a good 60'.
2) It was my first launch _EVER_ on this car and was with the limiter engaged and no clutch mods.
Give me a break, man, 13.1 is pretty damn good for the first try, especially on a 1.92, limiter-induced 60'.
I think it's obvious I would have hit 11s a LONG TIME AGO if I was making anywhere near your power, so you may want to keep these comments to yourself.

I just want to master driving the car normally before I get down to the complicated stuff, where one little mistake can cost you $2,000+. My friend who also has a 2004 has launched his car hard at the track at least 25+ times and he has about 14,000 miles on his car. He said his clutch still grabs like it did at 1K miles. I guess it's just all about how good you can launch the car. Someone like me trying to lauch is where all the, "the stock evo clutch and transfer case are $hit," rumors come from.

Congrats on getting your launch somewhat figured out Mitsu. I'd say a factor would be the tires you are running. I would think that 255-series stickies would require a different launch technique than 235-series stockers.
Good luck. He likes to whine about how bad things have gotten, and posts up speculative misinformation all over the place.
