1st Time I went to the Strip

First time I ever went down the strip (1/8 mile, 93 octane)

Oct 30 05:
1st run started great but it didn't go into 3rd gear until 2nd try:
1.829 60 ft
8.473

83.604

2nd run scratched 2nd

3rd run got tire spin again bad. I hit 4th before the end:
9.182 / 87.087 (I think the mph instrument at this track is off)

Spinning, car all over place:
8.826 / 86.32

I just couldn't get everything together for one run, but the next time I go I will have new tires - cause of the spin.

Dec 4 05:
Went to track again this time with new 245 45 17 tires which fixed most of the spinning but may have hurt acceleration (taller tire)

1st and only run (1/8 mi)
1.834 60 ft
8.319 ET

That was the only info they printed, no mph but I was about 7300 - 7400rpm.

I'm ordering a hotside tomorrow and I'll post the results in Feb (when track opens) to see how the hotside helps.

Feb 5 06:
10.5 HS installed

Again, 1st and only run (Just one run so I won't have to spend pwr mod $ on a clutch)

1.798 60 ft
8.045 ET

(mph said 88.739)

10.5 HS improved my time by 0.274 sec in 1/8 mi! (45 thousanths of a sec to go for the 7's).
I will test again this spring after I replace the stock catback and again after alcohol is installed and tuned.

Wrong forum.

Nice mph...it means you're making good power.

He said it was an 1/8th-mile track, and R/T is irrelevant.

93 octane
Reaction: 1.437 / I1: 1.829
Reaction: 1.178 / I1: 1.815
Reaction: 1.031 / I1: 2.367
Reaction: 0.832 / I1: 2.180

The tire spin made both the ET and I1 (I1 I think is 60') slower but strangely brought about faster traps.

Mods: 04 evo, GSC cams, Dynoflash, stock 9.8 turbo, stock catback, mbc, HKSrs.

10.5 Hotside helped my 1/8 mi time by 0.274 seconds. I even shifted in fourth at 7200 rpm 30 yrds before the trap and shifted somewhat conservative so I wouldnt miss.

See above thread for updates

If you are flashed you should be able to stay in third and cross the traps. I know I can anyway

I don't know why I shifted to 4th, I think I forgot not to, maybe I would of had like 7.999 but with a slower mph (interesting, the laws of physics and stuff). I was at about 7250 at the shift.

Thanks, My stock clutch has 28,000 miles with 7 passes down the strip and about 12 or so other slip launches. However the first month I had the car I needed to do an emergency get away and the clutch didn't grab - it just smoked all the way up to limiter - needless to say I didn't get out fast. Bottom line I'm happy with the stocker so far but dread the day I will need to replace.
