Busted out a 60ft and busted diff
Went out for usual slip and slide Wed night at LACR in Palmdale CA Elevation 2710 ft. Previous best was on 11/27 with 11.867 at 118.690. with a Vishnu tuned AMS 3076 on 03 Evo with stock tires. First run I sat at light and tried a quick slip at 7200rpm. Car shot foward but I could feel and hear front tires hopping. I caught 2nd late and speed shifted to 3rd. Shifted to 4th and right before finish line, I heard a weird nosie and let off. Turned into return road and felt horrible binding and heard loud clunk. From what I have read , knew right away the front diff was broken. Will not know what else until car is apart. Only very small upside was I beat my friend's best time in his 03 Cobra at LACR by .01
My run on 12/07/05- sorry no scanner
60ft = 1.559
330'= 4.841
1/8 = 7.541
1/8mph = 91.086
1/4 ET = 11.772
1/4mph = 116.253
Figure if I had not broken and let off I would have gone 119-120mph. Off couse if
I was smart I would have let off as soon as I felt the wheel hop.
Costly mistake
May have to upgrade to Quaife.

Wow, great time, but sorry to hear what happened. I learned years ago on my Talon to abort any run at the first sign of bad wheelhop. I hope to see you run up at LACR in the future. Good luck.

Basic Vishnu +1 with AMS 3076 kit on top of that. Vishnu uses the Xede piggyback computer- two switchable maps. On 2nd twin disc -Exedy.
Launched at 7200 in an effort to go faster.
"Nice 60'!! "
Thanks
That 60FT is sick, congrats!!!! Sucks it was at the expense of the diff. My best 60ft on similar setup was on a high 1.6x. Oh and ignore the "need to see the slip guy" that time is great at altitude (speaking from experience, 6000 up here) and I launch at about 6500 with a two step building 15 psi on the line.
I stopped on the return road as I personally saw MasterBlaster hit that run.
The timing lights on the Far Lane [ Napa Lane AKA Left Lane ] stopped showing R/T, ET, MPH and Wins every since they had the last Street Racers Night @ LACR. John the announcer could be heard loud and clearly, when he announced that he ran an 11.77 @ 116mph.
Here is the slip....sorry, my digi cam sucks when I'm using artificial light.
