Buschur/dynoflash Ix Goes 12.0
I must say, i thought going straight would be borring, but I had a great time and am looking forward to next week. The danger is that it can become very addicting! How much of this can our stock clutches take!

warrtalon- I posted all the info on the slips. I was also on 93 octane. I set my boost warning light at 22psi and never saw it come on. On the third pass I looked down and was running 20.5psi. I added one click for the fourth pass but I got a warning light and saw 24psi, so I lifted and coasted to a 13.9/72. I really think with a boost controller holding a steady 21psi I could've possibly hit a 11.90 pass which absolutely amazes me. Now time to save up for a good clutch, cam, and a small retune

This at least confirms a major belief I had, which is that the IXs will all suffer in drag racing just like the 05 MRs due to gearing in 4th. Believe me, no one will want to shift to 5th in the IX with that tall final gear...
Oh, I just about guessed the 1/8th. I'm amazed at how fast these bastards are going on pump gas. It's the same power I make with the same mods but on RACE GAS. Basically, as we've been saying, the IXs make cammed power with tbe/mbc/flash.

Oh and thanks...
Oh and thanks...A couple of things are becoming obvious to me:
1. The stock turbo is perfect on this car. Folks planning on going with big turbos should just buy used 8s. The 9 is gonna have plenty of power to keep most of us satified with the stock turbo. Imagine a good race fuel tune with max boost: easy 11's all night. But that brings up the one obvious problem.
2. 4th gear ratio. What can be done? First, can the reflashers can raise the rev limiter to at least get to 115mph and still be safe? If yes, then the next easy step would be to buy 4 Evo 8 stock wheels (people are practically giving them away) and fit some 50's profile tires on them. Assuming they fit well enough for straight line driving. That buys a few more mph.
3. Evo 8s "easily" gain 15 mph in the quarter on the stock turbo. So far, we have only seen 6 to 7 mph gain, right? The times are really impressive, but how are 9s gonna get to 119 or 120? Thoughts?

Definitely not wanting to make the 5th gear shift, so not sure what to do??? For now, the car pulls great and I'm happy with where the car is now. Plenty of time to work out the rest of the details. The car just turned 2k miles at the track. Time to enjoy it for a while. Someone I met last week(the GTO I beat) video taped the 12.1 and 12.0 pass. So, hopefully within a week I can have it posted. I'd like to see what it looked like from a spectators view. I know the guy in the Z06 wasn't too happy

fortunately.. he's reppin the eastcoast hard right now. The IX's are definately monsters. What will happen when the X's come along with paddle shifting and launch control advancements from tuners. I smell a cheap ferrari f430 brewing without the intoxicating sound ofcourse.
Congrats man, I'm really glad you were able to prove the IX's potential at the strip.
I wonder how much faster you would be with race gas?

My observation after reading some post on Evo 9 runs is that it sounds like the stock Evo 9 turbo does not boost as high as the Evo 8 Turbo however at a significant lower boost is still producing miracle power and performance.
I am very curious to see what people could run with the 20G Evo 9 turbos on the Evo 8 cars.
