Buschur/dynoflash Ix Goes 12.0

Well, like I thought, the car just needed a little more boost. I ran 20-21psi all night and the car is an animal. Here are the numbers. Many thanks to the Buschur guys who build great parts and to Al for the flash.

60' 1.74
330' 5.07
1/8 7.86
mph 86.77
1000 10.269
1/4 12.27
mph 111.98

60' 1.77
330' 5.05
1/8 7.80
mph 88.88
1000 10.17
1/4 12.16
mph 112.78

60' 1.73
330' 5.00
1/8 7.74
mph 88.83
1000 10.10
1/4 12.09
mph 112.00

Mod list is Buschur TBE, Buschur MA intake/filter kit, Buschur upper I/C pipe w/ 1G BOV, and of course the Dynoflash.

Holy ****! Great driving man, that is really impressive!

I can only hope I can hit at least mid 12's with just the custom Dynoflash I got the same day Al tuned your car. Maybe later in the year I'll invest in a Buschur turboback hehe.

I was there too and watched him run!
I ran my 05, it was my 1st time ever doing a 1/4. 1st pass was a dissmal 14.8 @ 104 mph, 60 ft 2.639, ouch!
3rd pass was 12.933 @ 103.23, w/ a 60ft of1.76 ! I believe my car can easily hit 12.5-12.3 with practice. It's not as easy as it looks!

Told ya so. I had no doubt you were capable of those traps at the proper boost levels, but I certainly didn't expect 12.1s and 12.2s. Those 60's aren't elite enough to get such low ETs with those traps, so that tells me one thing...

The superior mid-range torque (and thus whp) provided by the MIVEC and larger turbo is propelling you through the first 660' or 1000' much more quickly than an VIII with the same peak power, but then your lack of top-end and overall peak WHP is causing a lower-than-normal trap speed for a given ET.

Btw, all of this goes out the window if you were letting off early or braking early for some reason. Do me a favor and post the whole timeslips, even if you just type them in. I'm guessing the 1/8th-miles were around 7.70@89mph...

Do people see why I wanted to switch to a IX so badly? Haha...

Good job improving Sgt Blamo, but there is nothing easy about going from 12.9 to 12.5...nor is there anything easy about going from 12.5 to 12.3. If you're only trapping 103-106, then it won't get much better than 12.7-12.8 with great driving. If you start trapping closer to 110, then you may see 12.3-12.5.

I may not be able to get it that low personally, but I think the car is capable of it. I'm basing my presumption on your mods, being that mine are basically the same as yours, However, I didn't appriciate your times until I went and tried it. The driver definately makes the car!

Good job! Smogrunner where are u now? Looks like he was up on his game this time around. IMO this is good enough Empiracal evidence to deduce that the IX is a monster and Al can tune.

I must also say that the car is running out of gear. I am hitting the rev limiter in 4th every pass just shy of the beam.

warrtalon- I posted all the info on the slips. I was also on 93 octane. I set my boost warning light at 22psi and never saw it come on. On the third pass I looked down and was running 20.5psi. I added one click for the fourth pass but I got a warning light and saw 24psi, so I lifted and coasted to a 13.9/72. I really think with a boost controller holding a steady 21psi I could've possibly hit a 11.90 pass which absolutely amazes me. Now time to save up for a good clutch, cam, and a small retune
