Wonder how you are going to get your mph up any more now that your bouncing off the rev limiter. Whats max mph you think you guys are going to hit at a 8k rpm and with 50's on the stock wheels? 116mph maybe?

Nice drivin! Get that 60' down a little and it will go 11's for sure.

It sounds like it's still at 7600, which is stock. If it were at 7800, I think you can go 114 before hitting it. I've hit just under 114 on my 7800 limiter, but haven't touched it yet, and I think the IX 5spd in 4th gear is slightly taller (1mph or so) than the 6spd. I would think IXs will get to 116mph by 8k rpm, but that's all...

Sorry for the little bit of an off topic post, but...

Every IX I've seen hit the 1/4 mile has been on the east coast. Is there 1/4 mile times for a IX running 91 oct in Cali?? I'm usually on this board a lot and still haven't seen a 1/4 mile time for a IX in Cali.

How do you think people are going to get into the low 11's or mid 10's in the IX. Maybe a transmission (guts) transfer? Dogbox is a possible idea but is out of the price range of most people.

I was looking into the taller tire option for my GSR8 (not wanting to rev past 8200rpm to go 130mph+) Honestly, you can't fit a tire in there that is significantly taller without having major interferance problems with the factory struts and body work. Taller tire might be feasable to gain 1-2mph but not the 5,10,15mph that most guys are going to be looking for.

IX drag cars are going to get EVo8 trannies, custom final drive, or just settle being slower.

Frankly, they just aren't. Without a tranny swap or complete rebuild with new gears, they are going to have to settle for the same ET/MPH that we 05 MRs have been settling for...

TTP has gotten as low as 11.70 and 118mph, but he's well beyond the practical use of 4th gear. He's even revving to 8700rpm, although I think he is just now shifting to 5th most of the time - never know with him, since he plays things close to the vest. IXs get at most 1mph extra, so they will be doomed to no more than 11.5-11.6 on stock tranny while revving to 8500rpm or so in 4th. After that, it's gonna get expensive...

Seriously though, I want to see someone go into the 11's with race gas on the IX with tbe/tune and mbc if you absolutely insist...
