EVO 9 second time at the track with an intake this time

all right guys well no major change in my ET but my MPH improved... so here are both my best run when i was stock and my best run of tonight with the aem intake and ams lower IC pipe. Just so u guys know, when i ran my car stock it was 42F and tonight it was 57F.

Stock: on Jan 18th
60' 1.814
330 5.438
1/8 8.435@81.19
1000 11.028
1/4 13.195@102.70

AEM intake & AMS lower IC pipe: tonight Jan 27th
60' 1.836
330 5.427
1/8 8.406@81.96
1000 10.987
1/4 13.147@104.67

as u can see i gain some power, i ran a sligtly better ET with 2mph over my stock run that was on a much colder night than tonight
The intake and the lower ic pipe really helped. I ll be putting a TBE next week and go to the track again and hopefully break into the 12's

He has a IX, so it's pretty standard now. It would be sick if you got a 13.1 on your stock 04, though.

GTKage, the mph appears to have raised at the 1/4, but it didn't reflect in a change in ET for some reason, so I'm not sure there was actually a increase in power unless you missed 4th on that 13.1@104+ (no other way to pick up more MPH in the back 1/8th, yet take longer to get there). 15* isn't "much colder" either. Your driving is not bad and is pretty consistent. Your 60's are better than mine were with the 5k limiter connected. I never figured that thing out due to my feathering method habit that I have a hard time breaking...

I agree with Warrtalon, I'm not sure if your run is an indication of more power or simply better driving.

the track was crappy last night i couldnt do my usual 60' times, very low 1.8 -high 1.7
i drove the car the exact same way i did the first time i brought the car to the track, and clearly the car was faster in the top end
the first time i brought the car to the track i ran 13.214 @103.2, 13.200@102.4 and my best time stock of 13.195 @102.7... all this runs were done with low 1.8 60' and one with a 1.795 60'

then yesterdays my runs went like this : 13.207@103.81, 13.208@104.23, and my current best time of 13.147@104.67 .... my two first run were with a high1.8 ( almost 1.9) 60', while my last one was a 1.836 which is good but not my best launch ever...so my driving is not in question here. And i beleive if it was as cold as the first time i went to the track, i am sure i would have ran a 13.0 and maybe a 12.9.

You can't be sure of anything. People think things all the time, but it doesn't matter unless it actually happens.

let me rephrase then : I think it would have been possible for me to run a 13.0 and myabe a 12.9 if the weather was as cold as the first time i took the car to the track

it's amazing that the EVO IX stock is pulling low 13's. I am surprised with an intake and no ecu flash you didnt lose power. Maybe the IX's dont have a problem as the VIII did. Once you put on the TBE you should get a ecu flash. You would get more out of you're evo. 12's will be the new number. Good luck with your IX

Diablors, why are you amazed, man? We've been doing 13.0-13.1s in 05s for over a year and that's with 0 mods. The IXs are actually running 12.9s on weak 60's, and if a really good driver ever bothers to try, we'll see one go 12.7 in one the ones that traps 107. Especially in an 06 RS like yours that has no wing and is 100+ lbs lighter, 12s are a breeze even in stock form. You just gotta go out there and try it.

I ran 13.01 @ 106.9 in my Bone Stock IX

Low 13s / High 12s seem to be the norm with the 06's
A guy ran after me in a 06 RS and rolled a 12.9 @ 107.1

can u post the detail of your run, and track/weather condition plz?
coz here in florida with the humidity no one with a 9 has been able to get those kind of trap speed stock, all were in the 102-103 range. Even MOSTWanted EVO was running 103mph when he was stock and now he runs low 12's all day with basic bolton's.

What's up war. I am amazed because for a car in the low 30's with no mods were cracking low 13's high 12's. I havent had a chance to go to the track yet. Once it warms up a lil bit I will be heading out to Raceway Park. I am curious to see what I run.

I'll dig up my slips when I get home. But, I can tell you it was almost light jacket chilly. The sun was nice and hot. Most of the guys there that ran said is was GREAT track weather.

well i went to the track again this time with a mbc set @20psi and a cat-back, i ll logged the car as well, and the ecu was pulling timing when launching the car (probably due to the mbc and intake) and it was much hotter than the previous times i went to the track (mid 60's) so my time didnt improve that much, my trap speed increased another 2mph so i did gain some top end, i ll deftly get a reflash after i get my downpipe and test pipe so i can take full advanage of my mods
here's the run

Intake, lower IC pipe, cat-back, mbc@20psi
60' 1.832
330 5.406
1/8 8.352@81.30
1000 10.889
1/4 13.003@106.83
