First time with the IX at the strip...

I did ok, I was a little upset though, not with the EVO, but with myself, because I know I could have done better. Well I did one practice launch with the EVO and took her to Famoso Raceway. My first time down the drag strip in nearly 6 years and I ran a-

60- 2.090
330- 5.814
1/8- 8.954
MPH- 79.28
1000- 11.662
1/4- 13.918
MPH- 100.33

I was actually kind of happy about that first run I expected it to be a little bit on the bad side and expected to grow from there. So next pass-

60- 2.013
330- 5.695
1/8- 8.767
MPH- 82.46
1000- 11.442
1/4- 13.657
MPH- 102.37

I was pretty happy about that time and trap speed because I knew what I needed to do to better both my E.T. and trap speed. My launch felt better but I think I was slipping the clutch too slowly and needed to get more aggressive with my launch and shifting. So I was really expecting a 13.3 or even a 13.2 the next pass-

60- 2.236
330- 5.991
1/8- 9.074
MPH- 81.38
1000- 11.757
1/4- 13.992
MPH- 100.44

WTF happend? Well I got freakin' mixed up at the staging lights and ended up having to rush my launch and that totally ruined the entire run. Man I was so pissed at myself because I know I could have hit atleast a 13.4. Damn and that was my last pass.

Well the BAD- I did a pretty poor job, but the GOOD- I know I can improve, I wish I could have that last run back. Also I know the car can go quicker and faster. So I am really happy with the car.

when/if you break into the sub 2.0 60 ft. times then you will defintely see some very nice 1/4 mph/times.

Hah, after all this time tracking our times for us, you got to experience it first-hand finally. Don't sweat the launches. You haven't figured it out yet, but it's not easy. Once you get some 1.7s and 1.8s, you'll be on your own list of 12s...

Congrats on the evo, and the first time out is always disappointing with AWD if you aren't used to it (for any car typically), just takes practice, 12s are right around the corner

I'm glad you had fun and good job on going to the track and posting some times we need more of that me included. I just hate driving 2.5hrs to go make 3 runs!

^Yup 2 and 1/2 hours for three runs. I was kind of pissed because I was there for 10 hours, but so many cars were breaking and spilling sh*t on the strip. It really was like two runs, the last run I lined up and my staging lights didn't go on, so I thought I was too close, so I started reversing, then the tree started counting down, I was like f*ck and quickly shifted to first and reved and launched and bogged. That's why I was so pissed with the last run, I know it could have been better.

There was another EVO IX RS there, he was a cool guy, his best time was a 13.7@102MPH. He was having problems too, but improving with each run. Man usually from what I heard from others there, you get like 10 to 11 runs at Famoso, but that was not the case today. I'll give Famoso some credit though, it is a very fast track, probably the fastest in California, just so far away for both us So Cal and Nor Cal EVO owners. It will be open again April 1st for Test and Tune and I plan on making the trip up there again, not sure if I'll be stock still.

Whats up!.. Im the other EVO IX RS that was there. Nice meeting you. Hopefully you'll make it to Famoso again and well both do a little better. I was going to ask if you were on EVOM.... pretty sickening how we ran compared to most of the other IX's that have posted up... oh well... it's just a matter of getting that car to launch. The 5k limiter seems to make it really hard but I have been reading about 1.8's with it so its staying on my car for now. That was cool though we got run eachother... to bad you had to rush your launch though.

3000, Remember we run on 91 octane out here so expect a lil lower trapspeed. Also I ran once at Famoso and with all the beasts layin down rubber my 60fts were horrible there also. It looks like with a lil better 60ft and some quick shifting u will go low 13s. Great Stuff!

Congrats on the car man. You'll get down those launches....they aren't as difficult as some would lead you to believe. Smoke your wheels, not the clutch!
