Times last night

First time taking the evo to the track here is what i got
run 1 run 2 run 3
60- 2.032 2.042 2.092
330 - 5.523 5.495 5.589
1/8 - 8.418 8.431 8.531
mph - 84.76 84.13 84.07
1000 - 10.977 11.009 11.090
1/4 - 13.138 13.192 13.228
MPH - 105.69 103.30 104.39

Every run i did last night i couldnt cut a faster than 2.0 60 foot. Even with my rev limiter disconected. I need more practice. This was my first time launching this so i dont feel to bad. Given my trap speed and a better 60 what do you think i should see if i can get the car to cut 1.7 60 foot? Oh yeah the track here is at 3000 ft.

I'll try an post a video so you can hear my launch and give me some pointers

Nice job for your first time out, man Vegas track is pretty slow huh, was thinking about driving out there one day to hit the strip (both of them) but now not sure about one of the strips.

I wouldnt say its that slow, i just cant launch, if i drop my 60 down to 1.6 i am really low 12's right where i should be with my mods. Dan (ams white evo) AMS just ran a 9.9 out here.

You're not going to drop from 13.1-13.2 to "really low 12s" just with a 1.6 60'. 1.6 60's aren't a given either. Most people never do better than mid 1.7s. Your mph is what really dictates your potential. With only 105mph traps, you may be able to improve to 107 or so, which is a 12.8 for most people.

With a 1.7 60 ft. I think you'd be looking at about a 12.4-12.5 at best which is still a very good time for your mods and 3000 ft of altitude.

He won't be doing 12.4-12.5 with 1.7 60's unless he traps 108-109 or so.

wont i pick up 2 mph or so with a faster 60 foot? 1 am running 105.69 right now so about 106 so 2 mph isnt a ton to pick up if i get a better 60 and tune my afc.

No, you don't necessarily gain any mph from a better 60'. You may or may not. You also only hit that 105 once. The others were much lower, so you can't just take the fastest one and think you'll gain even more mph on top of it. As for the SAFC, are you saying you had one and it wasn't tuned? Why would it not be tuned? Anyway, if you're relying on an SAFC with 91oct, then that's why your power is so low. You need to use race gas or get a flash.

Good times. You'll get better with some more practice and some tuning. BTW, the Las Vegas Dragstrip is not at the 3,000 foot elevation, it's more like 2,100.

I have other runs where i hit 105 i just didnt post them, didnt think anyone wanted to see 8 13.1 sec runs, these are just some samples. I just got the afc so i havent had time to tune it yet. i have my pocket logger and i need to get my wideband before i start messing with it. I was running 100 oct but i could feel the car needed a tune. I wasnt a smooth power band and i think my dv was leaking (hks w/ recurculating kit). I was getting 24psi and tapered quick to 19.

Oh man, this was already on race gas? Not good. The HKS SSQV can't leak, and the stock turbo always tapers.

Yes, you will have some gains from tuning the SAFC, especially on race gas, but we were assuming this was all on pump gas. You'd be much slower on 91oct. I gain 3mph on 100oct. 91oct would be sucky, because you can't run 24 psi.

I plan on getting things smoothed out with the afc soon and leak testing to make sure all is good. I still have stock intake with stock filter so that is getting replaced with at least a kn drop in. just sold the hks and ordering the mr dv valve. Im working on the launching part every so often. Im having trouble finding my sweet spot. Either i ride the clutch a little long or slip to fast and wheels break loose. I see how things go next time. I dont feel to bad considering a lot of other evos there had trouble breaking 13.5's that night with my same mods.
