12.9 @ 108 dead stock - impossible?
Help settle an argument here guys.
Someone is claiming they ran 12.9@ 108 with a 1.9 60 foot in a dead stock E8 MR (JDM spec) on 98 RON fuel. I think they are talking total crap.
So - what is it - bull**** or is it actually reasonably possible?

60 doesn't matter than much with trap..... i think its very possible with a IX with an VIII i doubt it....i trapped 108 with my IX and a cutout i think 05's trap 105 and 03/04 trap 103...dont quote me on exact....with i highly highly doubt a stock 8 can trap 108
It doesnt have MIVEC though. Its basically a IX without MIVEC.
Reason it matters is because the person who initially made the claim is an importer of JDM MRs. The owner who came in to back up the claim is a first time poster.
If its true - them Im rapt. But I don't want vendors making exaggerated claims on my forum in order to push product either.
The car in question now has a Ralliart ECU, boost controller and exhaust. I suspect the mods were installed before the run. The owner states they were installed after.
Frankly I hope and wish that its true - but Im not very trusting :P

Not to rant and rave but:
1: I would be hesitant to draw comparisons against a IX with a cut out. Ive seen some massive boost spikes on a IX that had an exhaust and no tune and no boost control.
2: The original claim was 12.9 @109mph with a 2.0 60' which seemed really out there.

Yeah fastest pass by a stock E9 I have found was 106mph. I didnt find any terminal mph numbers for JDM MRs though. So that doesnt answer the question.

I couldn't tell you much about the trap speed but I have seen my friend's IX RS put down a 12.8 with a 1.8 60' bone stock on 91. IX's run, it's a fact that why I went with one. With the new turbo and MIVEC the power band is great and they make good power, even on low boost.
