No, it means it has an engine swap with the turbo'd SR20. That's what all the 240s do. He can probably get around 300whp on that thing with a very light body, so it is probably quite fast if it's setup properly. It doesn't mean he'd beat you at the drag strip, though. Have you even gone to the drag strip yet to see what you can do? If not, then you'll probably lose even if your car is faster.

Its FWD, I dont think you will have a problem with him.

depends on whether it's a SR FWD or RWD...
they have potential though and lots of it!
my friend's S14 with a SR20DET rwd went 11.7 with a boost controller,slicks and a small shot of nos.

I raced an SR20DET 240 on the highway last summer when my car was still stock. It was close but I beat him. We both down shifted only to 4th gear and then pulled till around 135mph and then let up. I had him by about 5 car lengths. I know the car had the motor because we were both on the way home from a big car show and I got to see under the hood earlier in the day. Also the AWD did nothing for me since we were already rolling about 75mph. If it is FWD and really is stock, then you should have no problem. If it isn't stock, then watch out because those motors have potential.

if it's a sr20det from japan, it has the same potential as an evo. It's from the nissan silvia, which is the body of the 240sx here. My buddy has the jdm sr20det redtop on his 240sx, and that thing is faaaaast. The american version has no turbo, so it's slow.

FWD is bad at launches, but after the launch, it'll rape an AWD (assuming both have the same hp) due to less drivetrain loss.

I had a 1993 SE-R. Beat the crap out of it for 12 years without a single problem. Really a great little motor. You could drive around all day long at 7000 RPMS. At the time it was a quick little car.

We aren't talking a 1/4 mile or from light to light, we are talking a fast rolling start on a long straight stretch of open highway. It took me a while to gain that on him.

Who knows? Maybe he wasn't trying, but I would say a Sentra is similar in weight to a 240 (although I don't know their weights) and a stock SR20DET is only around 200hp or so. Sure they are great motors to mod but stock one of those in a FWD Sentra is not going to beat an EVO in a drag race from a standing start. Just my opinion based on my one experience and physics.

its not in a 240, its a sentra body (FWD) and i know for a fact the motor is stock because i know who this kids friend got the motor from. im not worried about it because i know these kids dont have the money to spend on the internals and not to mention it took them 3 months to do the motor swap(and im not kidding at all)

so a rough estimate of how fast a sr20det swap(not sr20 turboed) in a early 90s body style sentra will do in the 1/4?

from a roll it would be a battle for you from the dig you would kill him.
those cars have a very hard time getting out the hole without slicks.
don't sleep on him they have good mph in the 1/4mile
I help a guy build one with the stock usdm motor high compression with a t25 turbo 13psi and it made 315whp on a dyno pack.
