First time Drag racing

Well lemme start saying this is my first time launching this car. So i was not to sure how i would do.

First run:

60 ft. 1.28 ( i know this was wrong, hahah)
1/8 7.65 at 89.67
1/4 12.1 at 107.49

So i was pretty happy, with this being my first run. The mph was low, i dunno why. i Launched at 5000 ( still need to fix the restrictor pill)

2nd
60ft. 1.72
1/8 7.9 at 86
1/4 12.3 at 115.20

this run was looking alright till i missed third gear. i was pissed. the other 2 runs i had were no good. I' still on stock clutch and it cant handle the torque at all. So that one of my mod i'll need. Before i came tonight i should have set-up my launch control on my utec, and did the pill mod. i think i could have done a little better. the car still got a lot more in it , just need more practice. on my last run , i screwed up bad on the launch i hit 118.91 mph. Next time i hope i can get in the 11's. before the clutch goes. hahah

Nice meeting some local guys. see ya next time.

Julian

What are you mods? With that really high tq number I assume your on alcohol/meth?

Also, that 107mph is definitely wrong too..... 1.2 60' lol! They need to fix that stuff.

this run doesnt really add up... decent 60 foot.

your 1/8 MPH doesnt really match with your 1/4 mph. usually people dont pick up that much top end. thats 29 mph. there was another post about this.

anyways work on your shifting too with that trap and that 60 foot you should be going faster!

i had a
1.8 60'
12.3@110

Yes, me and Drifto gained 28mph from the 1/8 t the 1/4, however that was discussed because he (drifto) was on pump gas and 22psi... this guy here has alcohol, higher boost and lots more torque so 29mph gain is legit IMO.

the 280 comp cams, are crazy. lots of top end. On one of my bad runs i traped 88 in the 8th and 118.91 in the 1/4. thats 30 mph gained. So we'll see what happens next time with better driving.

yeah, i know i need more track time. i also need a nice strong clutch. i think that would help me with me 60ft and with the 1-2 shift.

Evomiz - what are u running with ur setup currently? i see that u run 11's?
