wtf... 300whp and 13.1 in 1/4

11 times i launched hard from a 5k rev...

the first 7 run was with snow tires and the best i did was 13.1 @ 108mph

and the last 4 run was with the stock advan tires and the best i did was 13.2 @ 106

never burned my clutch and i tried various shift points...

i make 300whp/300wtq with my mods (2005 evo mr):
turboback with hi flow cat
walbro fuel pump
injen intake kit
hks ebc @ 22psi

the weather was not even warm, it was cool

and i cant break 12.99

what is wrong here?

*when i was stock, my best was 13.3 @ 102 with a rookie 3k launch

We need to know what your 60 foot times and such are. Still, for 300 whp, your trap speed seems low. Is this dynoed 300whp, or is your 300whp a guesstimate?

what was your 60ft? sounds like you are shifting to slow or not launching fast enough.
the 108 trap can get you into the mid to high 12's with a descent launch no problem.
I ran 12.7 at only 105 with a 1.6 60ft. and that was at 2200 ft elevation with basically the same mods as you.
by the way was this at Lebanon valley, or maybe englishtown?

Well even running 108 traps you should be 12.5-12.7 so somethings up with your driven technique

your 1/8th mile trap is down like 4mph.

Im about the same power as you and my 1/8th mile trap is ~85mph and my 1/4 traps are ~107. My 1/4 times are 12.6-12.7

The 13.1 is unrelated to your 300whp. Your trap speed shows that your power is right, but you haven't learned how to drive yet. It takes time - drag racing isn't easy. Others have given you examples, but just to hammer it home, I am currently sitting on a 12.30@107.99 at 6000' altitude. I, too, dyno 300whp uncorrected (up here), and my trap speeds max around 109.5, which is exactly right for 300whp. You have only seen 108mph so far, but when you get a good run with good shifting, you'll see closer to 110mph.

what about shift points? do you shift lightning fast with force? how do you do your 1-2 shift?

I no-lift every shift. I've shown vids of it recently, but here you go:

http://bagelbitez.com/dcevoclub/Warrtalon/12.30.mpg

Before getting this Exedy 4-puck, I would just shift really fast on the 1-2/2-3, then I'd no-lift the 3-4. Back at sea level, I ran 12.26@110 with ~300whp with this type of shifting and a great launch. Your car has much potential, but to get good times in drag racing, you have to have great launches and split-second shifting at the proper RPM and with no delay in power/momentum.

no-lift? as in shifting while keeping the foot on the gas?

what is the proper rpm? i remember having a delay in power in my 1-2 shift...
