He shouldn't shift any higher than 7100rpm without cams.

the re-flash enables the whole no lift shifting right? the rpm potentially drop to 5900 while the clutch is in and doesn't bounce off the revlimiter?

I am guessing the Dynoflash functionality of the secondary rev limiter is similar to the Utec's Launch control?

thanks

No, texrex, the rpm doesn't drop back down, but it also doesn't bounce off the 7800+ rev limiter.

Maybe it could be the "Dynojet" was reading too high or you have to improve your driving skills. I know people that have 280whp and run 12.7's. Trust me, they are not good drivers either. Good luck though

i get better results when i shift lower coming out of 1st... If I shift at 7k plus my car seems to lose a lot of boost when I get into 2nd... but if I shift first at 6500 like Wartalon says, it seems to stay in the power band a lot easier...

I had the same problem as the poster has... I ran several 13.0, 13.1, 13.2 all at 108 and 109 LOL. Even with 1.7 and 1.8 6 foots. My problem is always the 1-2 shift... =( (edit - this was on my 2003 EVO, i've yet to get my IX to PAcific yet...)

ET and Dyno results are not related. As I've already mentioned, his 300whp matches his 108mph trap speeds, especially since he hasn't learned to drive yet. When he learns to drive, he'll start seeing 109+ mph traps and mid 12s pretty easily.

The fact that you "know people" who have 280whp and run 12.7s is irrelevant. The 280whp could have been on any dyno, and the 12.7 could have been at any mph. The only relation is mph vs WHP. I also contend that they ARE good drivers (you're saying you know multiple people with the same power who run the same times who aren't good drivers, and they aren't you?), because with 280whp on a Dynojet, you'll only see 106-107mph trap speeds, so a 12.7 is pretty good. I ran 12.64@107.2 when I had 282whp back in the day with a cat-back.

i dynoed at 307/301 on a dynojet corrected, my first time at the track my best was a 12.8 @ 108, 60 ft time of 1.8, it takes practice i know i can squeeze lower et's with my setup, ill be going back with my new clutch and a licp and see what i get.

As stated above the MPH is there but the drivers knowledge/willingness/skill to drive the car hard, shift fast.....ECT is not present. That only comes with seat time.

Think about it this way. If you pause for 1 second in between shifts and your car is not underpower......(IE still rolling forward but not accelerating during your "slow" shift) what do you think that does to the ET...............Now multiply that 1 second shift by 3 (1-2, 2-3, 3-4 shift).......... 1/4 miles times.

FYI as also stated dyno numbers have nothing to do twith ET only MPH. BUT, I dynoed at 300 whp and ran a 11.96 @ 114.5.................................Just an example to show not all dynos read the same.

The 108mph seems right but the 81mph seems low in the 1/8th. I was trapping that stock
