WTF sub 13 sec passes?

How and the heck are these people getting 11 sec runs out of an evo? I have the Buschur Racing stage 1 thru 4 kits, Unorthodox racing flywheel, custom ferramic clutch and running 22 lbs of boost with 110 octane gas. Very little wheel spin on launch (4500 rpm) and shiftting at redline. I complete the 1/4 mile at redline in fourth gear! Best I could do was 13.1 @ 107.8 mph. Are these cars really geared that low? Buschur was saying 11.65 sec @ 117.88 mph. My technique may not be the best but 1.5 seconds quicker? Am I doing something wrong or is someone inflating ther numbers?

Damn I was running 13.2s stock, granted that was with a 100mph trap speed and a 1.7 60ft time. Sounds like something is happening to cause timing to get pulled.Seems like you should be trapping higher than that. Have you had your car dyno tuned?

What air fuel ratio did you tune it at? Tuning is important especially with a heavily modified car, slapping on mods w/o tuning is the worst thing anybody could do when they expect power.

Sounds slow and not necessarily the tuners fault. Have Al or somebody competent to dynotune it or street tune it. Sounds like timing is being pulled. BTW I have noticed that when I go from race gas to 91 octane and then back to race gas my car will not pull as hard and my times did suffer at the track. So I regularly change my cheap NGK 8es plugs before going to the track. It seems to be working as my car has never felt stronger and three 12.2 runs in a two hour period was the result .

No offense intended here but you need to look more towards your driving rather than the car. My last time @ the track I was hitting 13.1 at 101 MPH trap speeds off a measly 1.85 60'. It sounds like you're either not launching right, not shifting fast enough, or shifting too soon, or a combination of the 3. Even if it's a slippery track and you were experiencing wheelspin you should still be quicker than 13.1 with that trap speed. Post your entire slip here including 60', 330', 1/8 & MPH, & 1000'.

If you have had competent tuning then it is your driving. Your car should be much faster than a 13.1, I went 12.9's with much less on my car. Hope you figure it out.

60 1.868
82.42 mph
660 8.546
1320 13.194
107.66 mph

Be aware that I missed and then grinded .... Ouch! .... second gear. However the last run I made at 13.1 I hit second clean (the cheap *** slick as cat snot race track failed to register the run). All of my settings are Buschur for the parts I have installed. They have them set rich to protect the engine. But come on! I myself admit I'm not the perfect driver but how to get 1.5 sec improvement?

Go again and practice. Your car might of just been on the rag that day and for some reason was hitting on all cylinders. My 1st time out 12.9 at 108mph and 3 other runs that consisted of F-ups. Now I am doing okay eventhough my car is not as strong as others with the same tune. Either that or they get better traps because they are superior drivers or shift in the sweet spots. With your tune mid 12s is just around the corner. Be patient.

you will be amased at how easy it is to loose time at the track . i was mostly stock running 13.6 missed one gear one time and turned 14.7. inorder to get good times you will need to be able to drag race well. fast shifts , good launch 60ft in the 1.7 should get you easy sub 13 times. also track conditions weather conditions and then make sure all the timing info for that track it correct. we had one track getting alot faster times than another but you should be running with modded trans ams, camaros and even nice stock 6sp vettes. if your running with the pack then i wouldnt worry about the timeslip. you should also let someone you trust race it once to see if they are alot better than you or the same as you. i see alot of my friends race and be unhappy with their car and then i go and bust off .9 more and they are happy , thats one thing good about a DYNO you see how much HP your making it doesnt tell you your drag slip time. so at least you can be happy your mods are making the power you paid for, it not Buschar fault were all not John Force at the track

keep the big wheels turning.

Tym at Buschur Racing ran that 11.65 @ 117.88. He hasn't got an ounce of fat on his body, and is one of the best drivers of AWD cars out there. If you are only going to run 22 psi then don't bother with race fuel. Now if you are talking about spiking up to 25 and dropping to 22 by redline that is another story.... but if your PEAK boost is 22 then that explains your low trap speed and slow ET.
