Well I believe the best on our platform is closer to a 1.1-1.2 but yes.... normally 1.4's with slicks. I have seen high 1.5s on all season tires before on an Evo so I could see it being done. I dont find it very likely but its possible. I assume you are loading the clutch before the launch?

yes i have seen 1.5's on allseasons as well, my room mate pulls them all the time. but 1.45 on street tires and stock clutch isnt very likely. but you never know. I would love to see that launch in person, gotta be impressive.

Ah, if you ran a 1.54 before, too, then I think the 60's are always messed up. The likelihood of pulling 1.54 on the stock clutch with street tires is extremely minimal. 1.45 is as good as some RWD race cars with 1000+ RWHP on gigantic slicks. The stock clutch simply cannot handle such a launch, nor can it handle what appears to be around 500whp (based on 100mph 1/8th mph).

In the end, though, no matter how good the 60' is on the timeslip, if it doesn't result in a good ET, then it doesn't even matter. I pulled 7.82 @ 87 mph up here at 6000' on a 1.72 60'. A 1.45 would have meant a 7.50-7.55 at only 87mph.

Well Warr has a point

If your 60' = 1.1 but your 1/4 is still a 14 it really didnt help ya any, lol.

Then again your incorrect about the 60's that 1000 hp big slick cars do.

My buddies got one of them there cars (With much less power.. around 500hp/600ftlbs) and he consistantly pulls low 1.3s.

The 1000hp club with huge slicks get into the 1.05-1.1 range usually. Of course it all depends on what type of car, wieght, etc, etc....

Trust me because it REALLY sucks when I trap higher than 80% of the track but somehow am almost a full second off in most cases.

i've cut 1.5's at 2 seprate tracks before (cali speed way, and irwandale speedway.

Warr, my last dynp numbers were 420whp 405tq mainly due to my cams (more aggresive than revolvers) but anyways i know my car is all top end power.

Trina, i preload the drivetrain to minimize the shock then i slip the clutch as quickly as possible.(almost a sidestep)

Trina, some may do 1.0-1.1, but the vast majority of the hot-rods I see only pull 1.3-1.4. I know, because they show the 60' on the scoreboard after the launch. I can't tell you the last time I saw a car do a 1.0 that wasn't running an 8 or better. I see tons and tons of huge slicked big blocks with weaker 60's than Noogles on his stock clutch. It just makes no sense that his stock clutch would be able to withstand such a launch, especially not multiple times at multiple tracks.

I just meant it doesnt matter what the times in the first part of a track are... its the end result that matters. Your time was a 7.5x so thats that. Whether it be good or bad thats the time that matters in the end

I dont know what you all have done to your car so I dont know if that would be good or bad for you. For me it would be terrible but I probably have more mods than you.
