What do you think...

My friends brand new 2006 IX

3inch exhuast
EBC 20-21psi
Everything else stock no tuning

60" 1.619
1/8th 8.01
mph 91.94

It seems odd to me that the mph is so high and the 1/8th is only a 8.01. Whats everyone's thoughts on this?

Well he ran the same mph in the 1/8 as me on my 11.9 pass!!! His E.T. seems to indicate slow shifting. Very nice 60's by the way What was his method?

Well I drove his car as well... I power shifted and also tried fast shifting with no differnce in the time but I picked up 1mph over his best of 90.8. He rev's to 5200 - 5300 and dumps the clutch the same way I launch my car. He can cut back to back 1.60's and my buddy in a 06 MR cut a 1.55 on the stock clutch using the exact method. I wouldnt ever try this on the street though

It confused me when I saw the time and the trap speed. At the same track with a 1.6 60ft I ran a 7.7 @ 90. I also drove his car and just couldnt get anything better than a 8.0 no matter how I drove the car. Figured I would see what everyone thought might be going on.

The traps are just wrong - no biggie. He's probably around 86-87mph, which matches the mods. Or, the 60's are completely wrong. I say this, because I haven't cut better than a 1.72 up here at altitude, but I run 7.8-.7.9 1/8th-miles all day, and I never go higher than 87.5mph. With a 60' that is a full tenth better and 4-5 more mph, an 8.0 is basically impossible unless you miss a shift.

I shift slow and get an 89mph 8.0 ET but with a 1.79

I think 1/8 mph vary from track to track and mostly from torque curve to torque curve more than the other results
