Help with 1/4 time!

I was used to RWD, I had never been to the track, nor tried launching. I'm usually not hard on my car off the line unless at the track. Here's my slip. Again, bone stock, Evo 9. I was WOT shifting, also. A guy with a white Evo 9 was running 13.3 and he basically had no exhaust, he took it off, only had a downpipe, I believe. He was trying to explain to me how I was bogging and was giving me his launch technique. He uses the parking brake and lowers it when the car starts to catch, I don't think this was normal. Someone help!

I have no idea what RPM you are launching at, but I'm assuming that you are launching at the 5k limiter.......which is way to low. There are threads in here about how to disconnect it. Using the parking brake to launch is ridiculous, there is no way you will cut a good 60' time doing that. You trap speed looks pretty good, and you will get your 1/4 mile time down once you learn how to launch (there are lots of threads on that also).

It's just awful driving and the car is slow. Btw, why in the world would you use octane booster on a stock car?

I did add two octane boosters into it, I forgot to mention that on this thread. Could that have played a part in it.

trust me two bottles wont do a thing its a waste of money. Now 100oct fuel with a boost controller and a good tune = power.... higher octane only really helps with higher boost, helps prevent detonation.

Yeah I know it can be frustrating, I was running 2.2 60fts my first time too, but you just got to keep practing and you will get better. If I can do it, you can too. Launching off the launch limiter is a b*tch but can be done and once you've got that under your control, it will be smooth sailing for you once you remove the launch limiter (if you choose to). I for instance finally accomplished my goal of consistent 1.8s or lower 60fts off the launch limiter. I would love some 1.7s, but I'm tired of f*ckin' around with this launch limiter and the next time I go back to the track it's gone. The whole point is that even my dumb *** was able to get better, so I know you will.

What rpm is ideal to launch at?

I bump it off the limiter when I launch and slip the clutch, it works for me the best, I've tried other techniques but haven't worked as good as I hoped.
