Mid - high 12s for < $500.00

$249.00 - brand new XSpower full 3" exhaust (ebay)
$ 45.00 - K&N panel filter (used from an EVOM member)
$ 30.00 - Joe P manual boost controller set to 1.35bar (new)
$ 79.00 - Walbro 255lph HP fuel pump (new)
$ 96.00 - ECUFlash cable (new)
$499.00 - prices include shipping and tax if applicable

the results are:
60' - 1.734 - 1.775 - 1.809
1/8 - 8.146 - 8.172 - 8.172
MPH - 83.96 - 84.13 - 83.65
1/4 - 12.789 - 12.799 - 12.788
MPH -106.53 - 104.89 - 107.44

all runs were made with 1/3 tank of 93 octain & 1.35bar of boost as read off the factory gauge. The car is an 04 GSR w/SSL, full weight including spare tire and factory sub with 67,000 miles on the odo.

Maybe not the cheapest way to get there or the fastest with the least amount of mods but I am happy with the performace for the money spent. I think with more practice, boost, & tuning a 12.5 is possible.

Looks good to me. I'd still rather have a Hallman or Forge MBC, but that's my kind of modding there. Back in the day, I went 12.8 with just the SAFC that was bought used for $100 5 years ago, but I have an 05, so it was easier. If I had EcuFlash back then, it would have been much more fun.

I know you can hit a 12.5 with more boost/tuning on race gas, but I'm not sure you can run more boost/tuning with your current mods and 93oct.

I dunno, you might take the cake for cheapest 12.5 if you throw some race gas in there.

Great job! I like your mod list, I am just unsure about the XSpower exhaust, are you sure it's a full 3" all the way back? Just wondering because I sent them an email about that and never got a reply.

is this on the stock clutch still? you should throw some race gas in that beast, take out the spare tires and jack, and give it another go

yes its a full 3" through out, even the muffler. I took pics of everything. The only spot where its not 3" is the flange on the DP, but that is fine because its the same diameter as the stock o2 housing which I am running. When I switch to a 10.5 hotside and larger o2 housing I will gasket match that flange.

Oh, didn't notice it was a TBE. Eh, it's ok then. Did 12.6 with safc, cat-back, mbc on 93oct, then 12.22 with those same mods on race gas (stock clutch). After running 12 straight 12.2-12.3s bouncing off the rev limiter, my stocker went kaput.

Damn thats a hell of a launch. But then your et's kinda suck compared to it. I had a slower 60ft but put down a waay better et. I am guessing that has to do with its a 04 not a 06.

Yeah, your car is making some serious power for the few mods you have, and it appears from your ET that you drive well too. I only wish I was trapping 90mph in the 1/8th... I've already excepted the fact I'm not the best driver, but I'll get better with more practice.

Well, duh Skilmatic, that's because your car is much faster and you had a BETTER 60', not a slower one. Your 1.71 beats all of his, and you trap 90+ while he traps 84...

Or you can run a methanol kit, straight downpipe, MBC, and cable flash using someones datalogging equip. $800 for low 12's. If the car is a IX and with someone like the dude up there driving, then high 11's on pumpgas possible.

What do you think?

It's possible to get there without a TBE:

It's tough without race gas, though...

I have run 12.6's with dynoflash mail in and a 2.5 test pipe..WAY less then 500 bux. You can pretty much fart on an EVO and it will run mid 12's!
