Whoa now, simma down on the caps lock.

Anyway, my first RRE no-name lasted me a mere 20k and only about 10 passes at the track before it was completely gone. I'm on my second RRE no-name clutch (about 9k on it so far), and don't plan on doing any more drag racing in the future. I really do not recommend it at all for any type of drag racing. It does, however, hold up rather well to street abuse and road racing (thus far at least).

And fwiw, it's not an ACT, it's an Exedy.

Also, shifting that high puts you too far into 2nd instead of being down in the meat of the powerband. 6100-7600 in 1st takes a lot longer than it should.
Very interesting tip. So you short shift 1st and then run the rest of the gears over 7,000 RPM. I have to try that when I hit the drag strip next time.

Yes, that's what I do, but that's because I could feel a significant drop in power at high rpm in 1st after a hard launch. It is like all the engine's breath gets used up launching from 6k with full boost instantaneously, so I started shifting the 1-2 earlier. Another benefit of that is it becomes much easier to nail the 1-2 every time. I actually have never missed it in the Evo in 200 passes (that I can remember).

Well that makes sense. I also believe that every Evo/Car responds a little different, so it's worth experimenting some with my shift points. I just never thought of just short shifting 1st gear. I've played with shift points in the past and have come up with what presently works for me, now I'll try a bit more experimenting. Thanks for the advice.
