Evo9grl goes 12.2 in Phoenix (hot night)
Just as we set a 12.51 in Tucson (3100ft) last week, we decided to run the Evo 9 in Phoenix Firebird Raceway (1248ft).
We ran 12.25@110.52. The temp was hot as hell, extremelly hot and humid, everyone was sweating like crazy.
We took second place on the street class and walked with $60 cash and some gifts.
I want to say thanks to my fellow Evo M members and supporters from Phoenix for sticking around until my last passes. We started with a pathetic 13.8 (bogging down plus missing gears) then the next runs were 12.7, 12.6, 12.5, 12.4, 12.3 and 12.2. The 12.2 was our last run because we ran out of time( they wouldn't let us run since it was the final bracket). We believe 12 flat is achieveable in winter time.
We ran agaisnt a good friend of mine Trevor James which has one of the fastest vehicles in AZ 10.770@135, he runs a 1996 Red Stealth TT(custom own tuned) he also traps 138mph in Tucson and no NOS.
Thanks to Mynes Performance representatives, Mark,Mike, Antonio and company, and the other few Evo owners present
Take care people!!

Thanks bro. This is the second time I posted times at the track from two different vehicles dropping .3 tenth of a second just from going from 3100ft to 1248ft elevation
I also posted times from my Civic SI dropping .5 sec going from Tucson(3100ft) to San antonio raceway(700ft). Altitude makes such difference...

Wow I still can't believe it!!!!! Great job Carlos, I knew you could do it babe!!!
It was so amazing to see those numbers drop with every pass (eventhough it was hot as hell and humid) and to listen to the croud talk about the car and how well it was doing with every pass. I think if we run the car in the winter, when temps are lower, we might see lower numbers.
I can't wait to dyno the car to see what kind of power it's making with the new mods.

Socorro, was the scoreboard messed up? Carlos said it was 110.52, which matches the ET, but 117.52 is in your sig and in that pic. I'm pretty sure 117.5 isn't right...
Excellent times for Arizona summer heat with a mai-in flash!

Hey Clay,
I'm thinking it was. I just went looking for the time slip and it reads 110.52, but as you can see from the pic, it reads 117.52. All night he wast running low miles, eventhough the times were getting faster. Carlos is sleeping right now, so when he wakes up I'll tell him to go over the slips again.
Socorro.

For now, let's leave it at 110.52. I'm looking over the slips, and he did better on his 60'. He does better on the 60' on the evo 8. I suck on the 60'. His reaction times are amazing. I'm compering the times as well as the speed from the slips and the pics I took, and it looks like the board was messed up. I didn't look at the slip before, I only saw the pic and I remembered what the board said when he ran.
It was just so exciting to see him run faster each run. Some of the cars running there just plain sucked, too much noise, too much burning tires for a lame mid 14
. I think there are just a lot of bad drivers out there, good cars, but none the less bad drivers. We had a lot of fun (despite the heat).
The thing that makes me the happiest is that I drive this car everyday, and to know that on the weekends Carlos and I can go to the track and run and be as fast as we are, it's just unbelievable!!!!

The few first passes he did it on 91oct, since we still had 1/4 tank left of 91oct. He later added 4gals. of 110oct. But even when he was running 91oct, his times were better than other drivers running only race gas and way more mods than what we have.
