On 91oct we run around 22psi peak. Once we put 4 galons of 110oct or 104 oct we run 28-30psi peak and it holds about 25psi when I am crossing the 1/4 mile in 4th.

Mike,

My Defi gauge reads in LBS not on bars but here is a pic from two weekends ago when I ran the Evo 9 in Tucson with half race gas and half 91oct
.
T
This is a picture of our Defi gauge after we came back from the track. Notice that the defi controller records the highest peak boost held:

I dont think anyone can actually say how much boost they are holding on stock turbo in 4th as they pas the traps as theres just too much crap going on. Only real way to say for sure is if you log boost.

We took second place on the street class and walked with $60 cash and some gifts.
I want to say thanks to my fellow Evo M members and supporters from Phoenix for sticking around until my last passes. We started with a pathetic 13.8 (bogging down plus missing gears) then the next runs were 12.7, 12.6, 12.5, 12.4, 12.3 and 12.2. The 12.2 was our last run because we ran out of time( they wouldn't let us run since it was the final bracket). We believe 12 flat is achieveable in winter time.

We ran agaisnt a good friend of mine Trevor James which has one of the fastest vehicles in AZ 10.770@135, he runs a 1996 Red Stealth TT(custom own tuned) he also traps 138mph in Tucson and no NOS.

Thanks to Mynes Performance representatives, Mark,Mike, Antonio and company, and the other few Evo owners present

Take care people!!

Evo9GRL mods:

Buschur Cone,Buschur LICP ,Greddy Catback,3"DP,Test Pipe,Unos MBC, Dynoflash Mail-in flash

David ,

I know what you mean but my gauge actually records the passes. I have a Defi controller which has a built in solid state circuitry that can record up to one minute of time. This Defi controller is linked to the boost gauge which also performs other boost parameters(peak, warning). You can replay the entire 1/4 mile passes and review your boost, you can pause it and you can also rewind it or fast forward it.

I am unmistakingly making a legitimate claim. After I spoke with you at the track I quickly realized that you weren't running at your desire boost. I think I mentioned you that perhaps your MBC spring wasn't the appropiate.

I sent you a PM .

Mike,

That sounds about right to me. You were actually much better prepared for high boost than I was:

1) You had a much pure racing mixture ( you added race gas when your reserve light just lit)
2) Your ECU software allowed you to run race gas without having to switch for race gas map, you told me the car would switch automatically

For those two reasons I believe you wouldn't have any problems peaking to 32psi.

In contrats, our Evo 9 had a tune for 91oct and my mixture was not as pure as yours(I had a lesser Octane).

Anyway, your boost readings make all the sense in the world to me.

Thanks Al! I don't think I ever raced in a hotter night as last Saturday. Your mail-in flashes are working to the perfection even on this nasty hot weather. We are going back to Phoenix in two weeks, we will race both Evos.

Your mail-in flash on Bill's Evo 9(from Tucson) is working absolutely great, this guy sold a 550whp Mustang and he swears up and down that his Evo 9 is faster than his ex-550 whp Mustang..

Congrats Carlos!

Socorro's IX keeps improving despite the hot temperatures. Take it back to PHX this winter and 11's will be yours.

...by the way, where's housedj and his 11 sec. project car?

In order:

Guerrillah(David), don't swear it man,is OK. I never showed you the full set up, the Defi are one of the few that can do such features.. If you want, you can try my MBCs.
I think you could run faster(you already did) but you can increase your boost a bit more..

Sergio(Evofunk). Thanks! let me know whenever you get the parts I sent you to Germany. Are you still taking the Evo to Barcelona,Spain next week? I will call you in Barcelona to say hello. Be careful when crossing France, you know what happened to you last time with the French Police..

Poorboys(Mike),Thanks! what is up with you dude? I haven't seen you in a while. When are you showing up again, it is always niceto have your company. Last but not least, stop growing, everytime I take a picture near you I look tiny.. you are a tall ****

RMM, thanks

AZ EVO IX MR , when I was racing you on 91oct and lesser mods and we got identical trap speeds I knew there was something wrong with your car. I hope you get it fix. You impressed me with your several 1.6 launches, I am confident you can run even faster than me.

Carlos
