So many different factors to account for. Proper setup on suspension/alignment is probably a great factor as well.

Money, skill, experience, a sense of physics, patients, and a little luck.

There is a big difference between slapping parts on a car and driving a properly "setup" drag car.

Driver is most of it! The only people that will deny it are the people that don't want to accept the fact that they aren't great drag racers.

1.50's 60' , very fast shifting, and you'll be fine. Look at what Curt Brown has done. David Buschur saying Dan drives the car he'll openly say that his Bro is a better gear rower that him.

In the end the best drag racers are the ones that drag race alot!

i believe also that the majority is done in the first 1/8 if not the first 60'. Each tenth down low is worth two tenths up top usually. So dropping ur 60' from 1.7 to 1.5 u should on average get about .4 lower 1/4 mile time.

Your time is decided in the first 60ft. Get your launches down and everything else will come together.

Well only partially true, if you cant shift good the best 60' in the world wont help.

I agree more with the guy's that say the first 1/8th is what makes or breaks a good time. Everything from the launch to the first couple shifts which come so fast that they can make or break a run.

60ft is huge as well as rowing through the gears fast especially in the first half of the track. Tires, track prep, proper release/engagement of the clutch, and suspension all are needed to get great 60's. A tenth on the 60' is often good for two tenths on the far end of the track all other things being equal with the run. IMO the most overlooked factor to better 60's are shocks. Rebound/compression play a huge part in preventing the tire from being "shocked" off its contact patch.

Usually your shifting skills will come together before launching. That was quite evident at the shootout.
