Track Times in my new 06 IX

Got a few crappy 14s bad launch/missing gears ect. I was excited/nervous....had not been down the track in a few years.

Anyway I got one Ok pass.

60 Ft. 2.0XX

1/4 mile 13.4xx

MPH 103.92 <<<< I was suprised! Very humid, just rained before the race.

I need to get the launch down. I Cant belive this focker ran almost 104 MPH! Thats high 12s with a good 60ft. Car has a K&N Drop in and short throw.

Thats relly good for it being stock. However, there is much room for improvement with the launch. You shoud at least pull a 1.8 consistently. You should be slipping the clutch in order to pull those times. It sounds to me you are just using the 2 step then dumping it.

you can't dump it with the limiter. Other wise he'd be bogging and pulling way worse 60"

Yea, I used the stock 5K 2 step and I actually slipped the clutch real fast and it went to 7K slipping. So I hit second and it went to 7K slipping again. Poor clutch Got a Link for launch tips?

Yes you can. My first times dragging my car I did this and pulled 2.0-2.1 60fts consistently.

When I learned to slip the clutch I was pulling 1.8-1.9 consistently. Then after a few mods and more practice I got into the 1.7's consistently.

Yes you just havent found the spot yet. Once you find it that wont happen. However, keep in mind you will need to buy a new clutch soon if you race often.

I really dont race that much, however I did race my buddy in his 98 Cobra, he has boltons and 4.30 gears. I gave him the 2 step action on the street. I had 3 cars on him right off the bat..he was just spinning Im sure glad I bought this car.

Also, I do work at a mitsu dealer and the Service manager told me he would hook it up on the clutch, he said its covered for 36K miles

Actually its not covered for 36000 because its a wearable part. Wearable parts arent covered under warranty. Now they are covered for 12000 miles but thats it. And somehting malfunctional has to be wrong with it not just simple wear and tear.

Now the 36000miles might be from your buddy hook up but in reality its not the case for all of us.

Also I have beaten03 cobras before no problem. The cobra driver must know what hes doing to even compete with a evo.

Also what yr was the 20g on?

Hmmm, thats odd that with all those mods he is running slower than my simple bolt on evo. Granted its a 9 but hes got cams and a 20g with other supporting mods I am sure.

At any rate, just keep practicing. Thats all you can do.

Yea, I just got my Hallman Pro RX MBC today, boost gauge is in the mail, Head studs, Walbro 255 and short throw (installed), Lower IC pipes in the way. Now I just have to figure out the Flash. I Emailed a certian vendor on this site. He failed to answer my quesions about MIVEC tuning, was very short and just told me to send him money. I pulled the .HEX file off of my ECU so I am ready to go for an Emial flash. Thats my biggest deal. I dont want a Jackass to give me a bad tune.
