Disappointing times tonight

Run 1: Bogged the launch, clean run after that

Run 2: Eh launch, traction issues now, missed 4th

Run 3: Ehhh launch, spun more than the 2nd run, I felt the rear come out some, clean run, but slow

So my old problem was a slipping clutch, now it grabs great, but I spin on the launch. The tires on the front are crap, got to get rid of them. I also guess I will have to mess with tire pressure now.

Other than that, I wasn't happy when I left. I also think my car should be faster. My best run prior to the re-tune was the 12.25@113, that was on race gas @23-24lbs. Now I am tuned for 24lbs on pump, and my times look how they do.

I thought I was atleast going to match my time from before. But that didn't happen. My best run tonight, the 60' was a 10th of a second off from my 12.2, and I only ran a 12.76@110. What the hell, in theory, should it be faster than that. I know my launch was weak, but a half a second off???

I wish I had had a comp with me, so I could have logged the runs. It felt a little weird in 3rd on the run I missed 4th. I don't know, I just wish it was a better night.

Im also going to show my 12.2 time slip after the new ones, for reference.

24psi on pump in an VIII seems really high. Are you sure your not pulling timing?

and between runs 1 and 2, this piece of crap truck broke his axel, wheel came flying off, rolled down the track. But the **** didn't stop, he drove all the way down the track, pouring out rear end fluid the whole way. So we had to wait an hour and a half for them to clean it up. I guess I could look at it as a good cool down period, but I hate waiting.

Dont worry about my mods, worry about the power I made and the times I ran. Im looking for a reason why my car was slow at the track. I know my 60' is bad, but will it effect my et that much?

looks exactly like my timeslip.
i figured it was my shift points in 3rd and 4th gear i went up to 7600-8k with 264's
my 3rd gear tune didn't fit my 4th gear so when i get into 4th gear it pulled mucho timing.

Wtf? What you mean dont worry abotu your mods? This is probably the whole reason why you are making so little power and doing so horrible. First off, any aftermarket intake w/o a tune is horrible for your car. And only a select few after atune actually make power and the power gains are next to none.

If you dont want to have the right attitude about trying to learn why your car is doing horrible then I suggest never ask.

On the other hand, most evos have boost leaks. That could also be a problem too.

What are you talking about? My car is tuned. What attitude, your asking stupid questions. If you don't have any input, don't reply. All you needed to know about my car was what was shown in the thread and whats in my sig..

And I am trying to learn, thats why I joined this forum and post my experiances.

24psi on pump is to much (IMO) and you may have been knocking and it is affecting the timing.
Turn it down to 21psi unless you are on race gas and tuned for it

You are also running 40 or so less hp so do not expect your pump run to come close.

I am asking stupid questions? Please note that it was YOU who was the one who posted this thread wondering why you are doing so horrible. It was also YOU who was the one who did horrible on the track consistently.

If you look at my sig I think the stupidity defense will become apparent to you that it was pretty lame.

However, to answer your question. It is unlikely that a crappy launch will cause your trap speeds to decrease that much. However, it will of course effect your et's.

Look, I tried telling him that the mods he has done werent so bright but he shot me down so I dont think he will listen to constructive criticism.

And your right 24psi on pump is definitely not good.
