New Personal Best - But Disappointed!
Well, went to the track last night to take advantage of the cooler weather (63 Degrees but with a lot of humidity).
Made 2 runs:
(1st Run) (2nd Run)
60 - 1.758 60 - 1.828
330 - 5.184 330 - 5.331
1/8 - 7.951 1/8 - 8.101
mph - 88.23 MPH - 88.16
1000 - ??? (Slip didn't list it) 1000 - 10.460
1/4 - 12.280 1/4 - 12.423
MPH - 114.94 115.14
My best run prior to this night was made in 83 degree weather so I thought I would pic up several tenths in the 1/4 but I only picked up 1 tenth. My mph went up by 3 which is great. I looked back at my best 12.3 run and my 60's were almost identical to my new PB. (1.74)
With my mph, does it seem like I should be hitting high 11's or even lower 12's?
Thanks for your feedback. All runs were on 93 and alky (50/50) @ 26.5psi tapering to 22. < Not holding boost well with the taper. Location is Cleves Ohio with no elevation. See signature for mods.
Thanks,
Mike

Well, I believe I'm shifting pretty quick but you never really know until you see how an expert does it. My 1st to second shift may be a little slower only because I get locked out of second sometimes. But, by no means is it "slow".
I have this feeling my car is not up to par through the first 3 gears but still quick none the less. When I hit 4th though, it pulls like a mule. This may explain my high traps but lower then normal times. Could be a boost issue as I know I'm hitting and holding higher boost in 4th gear. I'll take a look at my boost next time out and also concentrate a bit more on my shifting and see if that helps out.
Just looking at my times, does anyone see anything else a mis? I could get a better 60' but I'm fine with a 1.75. For 2003 Evo's when do most people shift out of second gear? I'm shifting about 58-60. I'm not sure where the rpms are and maybe that might be a issue too. I usually focus on the mph rather then the rpms. Maybe I should be looking at the rpms rather the the mph going down the track??
Thanks,
Mike

your 330' times should be 4.9s, your 1-2 shifts are rather slow or you are spinning a great deal, one of the two, get those times down and your ets will drop considerably...

Well, I am spinning a bit out of the hole, but that was still a 1.75. I'll work to get this down next time and there after.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I think most of my focus needs to be on my first three shifts by speeding it up a bit and also out of the hole. I'll be out again next Friday to try and improve a bit.
Thanks,
Mike
