7.6 is a nice time in the 1/8 I'm not sure how you did it at only 84mph. I would say a 7.6 is normally 87+.

This this track downhill or something? I hit 7.5's all day long with a trap over 90. Seeing the 330' would be nice.

That is the slowest mph for a 7.6 ET I have ever seen. I hit 88.8mph in 8.0 seconds. That is also a good time for a 1.8 60' .

What are your mods?

Now it makes sense. Something had to be wrong. I trapped 87 at 8.26 with a 1.86ft'r.

That's the 3rd useless 1/8th mile timeslip we've seen in a week. Why are people suddenly going to 1/8th mile tracks, and then why are they posting the bogus results? Get to a real track that shows real times, plz.

Maybe everyone doesnt live near a 1/4 mile track. I know I dont. The closest 1/4 track is over 2 hours away. So I go to the 1/8 track. Its for fun. Just relax we all arent "self proclaimed expert dragracers" like you. I do it for fun win or lose I have fun. I should be running a lot better than I do, but I dont care its for fun.

2 hours is fine for getting a good 1/4-mile baseline. The last 5 years, I've lived nowhere within an hour of a track, but I still went about 20 times, most of which was in Friday afternoon DC traffic, and that was with an 1/8th-mile track within 30 minutes.

Regardless, having fun is fine. I didn't say 1/8th-mile tracks weren't useful or fun. I'm saying that there have been 3 people in the last week who have posted timeslips from 1/8th-mile tracks that were completely bogus due to the crappy timing system or screwed up track. The useless part was coming on here and posting the results, but what's worse is they didn't even know they had spent their money and time on some faulty timeslips.

FYI, I haven't proclaimed myself an expert. If you choose to use that term in reference to me, then that's your business, but don't put words in my mouth.

Other than a safe place to practice launching and shifting, if you're track has a hosed timing system it really is only a safer place than the street to get in some seat time. I don't think the validity of how valuable an 1/8th mile track is to racing when calibrated correctly is being questioned. The same could be said for a 1/4mile track if it was out of whack. The problem is the couple of slips lately that don't make much sense to folks who have been around the track a bit. Our 1/8th mile track around me has weekly money races and routine EZ street and KOTS events. So they maintain a good system and track prep. I'm just lucky I guess. Regardless keep practicing and having fun.

^^ditto

There is really no difference.. I shift into 4th before the line so 1/4 should be just holding on to 4th gear to the 1/4 mark

Im just waiting to see if my stock enkeis with better tires cut me a better 60ft than my heavy 18's. Then i'll drive the 1 1/2 hour to the 1/4 mile.
