I always have been a fan of more boost than timing.

depends on the turbo...
less timing= more heat
more boost = more heat
so its kind of finding what yields the best result but i too am a fan of boost over timing

Pretty new to the whole tuning thing so sorry if this is a stupid question...

When you're playing with your timing and boost, I understand the main thing you're looking for is knock, but what is an optimal EGT range to look for?

People will tell you EGT is more or less useless now-a-days because of the wideband O2 sensors. As long as you tune for a certain air/fuel ratio and do not have any knock you will be OK.

However, with that said (guess I can be considered old school on this topic) I like to keep everything around or below 1650 F. Anything above 1700/1750F can start to do some damage.

well stock block can only handle X amount of boost correct?

like going over 30PSI on stock block isnt a good idea right?

You ran much faster than I did. I don't want to say what my 1/4 mile time is. All I can say is that I apparently am not a very good driver...

What was your 60'?

Nice

I am looking forward to stopping the modding for a while once my engine build is done (This way I won't be afraid to break something, since everything will be built to handle it) so I can focus on driving.

The stock head gasket is good to about 40 PSI.
