Update on my times! 1/8th and 1/4 !!! still slow!

My times today were not that impressive but it sure felt good smokin' every car i raced.
My dinner included: 06' STI , 2 05 STI's, SRT-4, Pissed off old skool Camaro, and a side of Tiburon.

I had a great time meeting a few DSM'ers and some Big Block peeps. I never realized how short the 1/8 mile really was until i came here. Check out these times... notice my weaksauce 60'

http://www.gigafiles.co.uk/files/540/evo%20times.JPG

1st run
60' - 1.92
r/t - .806
mph - 86.42
1/8 - 8.747

2nd run
60' - 1.92
r/t - .978
mph - 89.09
1/8 -8.68

3rd run
60' - 1.88
r/t - .557
mph- 89.87
1/8 - 8.64

4th run
60' -1.95
r/t - .558
mph - 90.14
1/8- 8.68

What do you guys think of my mph v.s. elapsed time. It seems that my car start movin' up top with the 272's but not enough to show the gains it probably may of had in the 1/4. I guess im just gonna need more practice in the 60' area as you guys can see. Sooooooo if i could cut a better 60' 1.5-1.6 i could possibly have an *** Kicken EVO.

There was a smooth silver evo with a silver VG running 8.40 1/8 but i never got a chance to meet the dude.

272's & Cam Gears, Stock Headstuds, Stock Airbox, Stock BOV, Stock Injectors, Stock Turbo, 3 inch TBE, ECUFLASH, Profec-B Spec 1

Something seems wrong, I've ran 8.26 at only 84.7mph w/ a 1.87 60' , you should run 7s easily.

Learn to launch the car better. Your 60ft.s are killing you. I ran a 7.97 @ 84 mph lastnight. With your mph, you should be hitting 7.7's maybe lower with a better 60ft.

You running race gas?

What are your mods cause your mph doesnt match your et? Could we see a timeslip please? Even 8.7 @ 86 doesnt match. Running 8.6 with 1.9 60's your trap speeds should be around 79-80mph. And there is no way you ran 90mph at 8.6. Sorry I just dont beleive it.

Those traps seem high for the times. I ran my evo last night with almost the same mods as you.
60ft- 1.85
330ft- 5.31
1/8et- 8.21
1/8mph-86.17

Do you guys thing their timing system is off? On the 90 mph run i pulled a touch of fuel out up top and raised the launch control to 6300 (5700 seemed to work better 1.8). It did like the fuel adjustment though. I'm going again next friday to touch up on my 60', I'm also gonna try different tricks like air pressure, stock wheels (I was running custom Boyds 18x9 on Falken Rt-615's this session), cam timing, etc..

the time defintly seems off. Last night i was consistently running 7.7 1/8 at 90. the other evo i was racing was having problems launching cutting 1.8 60' and was trapping 8.1 at 85.

Spoolinspyder,

You 1/8 time don't match at all. Your trap speed and your 1/8 mile times are aproximately one second off. It would make sense to run such speeds but only when running a second faster.

Your 1/8 mile times are slow but your trap speed aren't.

Again, these are useless numbers from an 1/8th mile track. Your driving and launching sucked, but it didn't suck enough to only get high 8s when trapping 90mph. Hell, my first run ever in my stock 05 MR was an 8.4@80 with a 1.92 60. Now, compare that to your very similar 60's but with an extra 7-10 mph, and you know the timing system is crap.

Go to a real track and don't waste your time at the 1/8th mile. Btw, 90mph is pretty nice...your car is fast, but why do you still have the stock BOV, and why do you feel the need to point out you have stock block and head? Most people have a stock block and head with so few mods, so that's not important to point out.

If it feels better, i modded it for you! I agree there probably something fishy going on with their timing system, but I'll be there next week to verify my runs and hopefully they'll re-calibrate their system.

I cant even see the timeslips. However, just like everyone is telling you your trap speeds dont match your et. Either the timers are off or its a typo thats the only ting I can think of cause you didnt trap at 90mph with a 8.6 I can assure you of that.

Dude warr, I highly doubt he even trapped at 90mph in a actual 1/8. BECAUSE IN A 1/8 IF YOU DONT GET AT LEAST A 1.7 60 THEN YOU WONT GET HIGHER THAN A 88MPH TRAP SPEED. IF you do the you either got a bigger turbo or nitrous. With my original setup I trapped at 90mph once and thats when I ran the7.7 ET.

So especially seeing that he has only 1.9 60 there is just no way a 90mph trap is even possible.

yeah, thats what i figured as well considering i did the calculations myself and realistcally it had to be off. Im wondering what traps the other silver evo was cutting, it definitely has to be faster than mine since he was running 8.4. Hopefully he can post his times if he see's this. Just lookin for an apples to apples comparison.
