went to the 1/8 mile friday night it was about 90 degrees and about 95% humidity i hace a injen cold air intake cat back rrm headers. my first run reaction .180 60ft 2.482 330ft 7.051 1/8 mile at 10.924 63.83mph second and third run had launch problems ran a 11.289 and a 11.018 last run reaction was a .078 60ft 2.464 330ft 7.061 1/8th 10.947 mph 63.20 is that good for my mods? also had 1/4 tank of gas my best times was when i dropped the clutch from about 3500rpms alot of wheel spin but i didn't bog. it seems like i get better traction on the street. stock rims and tires. please give advice for better times thanks for the input.

i cannot comment on times but you will get better traction on streets vs track. if you are gonna run track alot get a different set of tires for better grip.

should i go with a lower profile tire that would probably help get off the line a little better. softer the better?

you can go softer for more grip, but they just won't last as long. you're really just looking for a tire with grip. i'm leaning towards getting the yokohama AVS ES100's or the Dunlop SP Sport 5000. i'm sure it'll help, but nothing (really) beats driving technique.

i might try to slip the clutch next time just don't want to burn it up. i raced a a wheel drive eclipse he ran a 9.5 at 79.97 i was with him till i hit second then he was gone. most of the civics that were modded about the same ran mid 11's or slower. evo only ran a 9.22 on the 1/8 that was on his fourth try he had major launch problems. most of subies ran about 9.5 . maybe it is the heat and humidity causing the slower times.
