that's a super-high 1/8th trap compared to the rest of your slip

I'm not doubting you ran 88-89mph in the 1/8th, but usually that results in a very low 12/high 11 second pass at 113+mph. what was the breakdown on those other passes?

Its not normal for a stock turbo, especially one that traps 88 in the 1/8th, to not make another 25mph or more on the back end. Either something is happening to your car at the top of the track to only trap 107 or the timers were off.

Did you think I was only using ONE of my 250 timeslips as a reference or something? No, I was just giving you one specific example, and my example is on par with the norm.

Just because it's better than you, doesn't mean it's not legit.
Haha, ok. 8.2@89 is not better than 8.0@84, plus I had an VIII with only an SAFC. Of course, I added more mods and went much faster, but that's not the point. We're not talking about who went faster. We're talking about a timing system that is either wrong, or your car has some serious issues up top. You think that because you have timeslips saying the same thing, that makes them right. Well, I have a _VIDEO_ showing me trap 115.7mph, but guess what...the timing system was wrong!

I'll talk with the other guys that went to the track that day and compare some of their 1/8th times...see if it's my car thats producing the differing results, or the track timers that were off.

And I was shifting into 5th at the top of the track, probably effecting my overall trap speeds. One time I did not shift and ran out 4th, and that resulted in a 109 trap...so thats probably more accurate with the rest of the numbers on my slip.

I shift to 5th at 6000' altitude in a 6spd and trap 109.xx (12.3-12.4 with 1.7 60s) with 87mph 1/8ths. I have to do this, because my power peaks at 5200rpm and falls drastically due to the lack of oxygen causing major boost taper. Again, shifting to 5th or not, 88-89mph traps do not make sense here.

I was there with Mooseknuckle yesterday, he was putting down some great numbers!

My time slips from a totally stock '03 Evo are

my best run of the day:

60 ft.- 1.855
1/8th et- 8.887
1/8th mph- 82.50
1/4 et- 13.780
1/4 mph- 99.65

other runs:

13.940 @100.20
13.887 @100.26

Istead of badgering a guy who has never been to the track you should be congratulating him for:

1. to go to the track instead of racing on the street!
2. going with a group of Evo owners to have a fun time!
3. experiencing a all time high by making his personal best time he can be proud of!

I have seen MK time slips and we all we talking about how well the cars were running in the cold michigan weather!

No one is badgering - we're just educating and clarifying. Taking it as badgering is the only problem here.

Btw, your 1/8th MPH is way off, too. My stock 05 only hit 80mph in the 1/8th, but I ran an 8.4 with a 1.92 60'. You had a better 60' and 2.5 more mph, but were almost half a second slower. Obviously, something is wrong with those timers (or the placement of the sensors).

What ever it maybe, i have severly bad advans, a bad alignment and still ran that number. i understand about the badger part of things, no harm is ment at all it just to difficult for anyone to see emotion or not emotion from a keyboard.

anyway what track did you get your numbers from? or was this a general guide line you follow? all i know is i have seen time slips and have time slip of my runs. I highly doubt every track has accurate placement of timers in there correct places, well except for the big tracks like Indy Branard and all other NHRA /IHRA tracks that run the Tour cars.

I still pit crew for a buddy of mine that runs a drag sled, yes a snowmobile. We have been to a few top NHRA races where John force was running in front of us and Antron Brown right behind us. Hell i was talking with Kenny Bernstein and Joe Amato while we were in line and they thought we (the snowmobiles) were crazy.

anyway sorry for the soapbox, but all in all its a time slip with numbers that are produced by light beams and distances for that given track so if its on paper and they are a IHRA/NHRA track then thats a legal time slip.

It's based off 250+ drag runs of my own at 7 different tracks in 4 different states across a 6000' elevation span PLUS the countless timeslips posted by other Evos in the past few years right in this forum.

Compared to what's normally accepted, those 1/8th MPHs are way off. The good thing is the 1/4 et/mph don't seem off, but when the 1/8th is off, it makes you wonder about the rest.

I love how everytime something happens that WarrTalon doesnt think it could/should happen, he gets all pissy like a little girl. Like when I ran a 13.1@102. Warr said nope, that cant happen. I guess its because he controls the phyisics of every EVO.

Like Bullet said, if its a IHRA/NHRA certified track, the time slips and times are legit, unless there is a known problem or something that happens to everyone (ie, when Warr ran 115MPH, but everyone was also runing 2MPH faster then normal). Alot of 1/8 miles track that just get set up for a night or something are inaccurate. But none of those are certified

Anyways, Warr is a smart guy and has a lot of drag experiance, but sometimes people run time that dont have to follow the normal time "rules".

I didn't say "that can't happen." It can happen, but is not likely in your case, because it wasn't like you drove the wheels off the car. Your trap was just low. In this case, the 1/8th MPHs are WAYYYYYYYYY off, and the 2nd guy confirmed it. So, it's happening not only on every successive run, but also happening to multiple people. Certified or not, the 1/8th mph is way off. The track where I hit 115.7 is certified, too.
