13.42@ 102.5 is this slow?

i have a 2003

stock 9.8 hs

only mods are intake, TBE, and MBC, and a Walbro

no tune yet.

91, Cali crap gas

i ran a 13.42 @ 102.5

60ft. was 1.853

Gate 2 5.489
Gate 3 8.552 @ 80.229
Gate 4 11.189

im not sure what gates 2 and 4 are, im assumeing 3 is 1/8 mile.

whats a good 60 ft time for a stock clutch?

im going back in Feb after i install my 10.5, LICP, Ebay o2, and a tune. with some more practice can i see 12's?

It's ok. 1.7 60's are where you want to be. 12s should be no problem after those other mods and the tune.

he has a MBC... those mods should easily get you 12s... you might want a tune soon.. especially with a walbro fuel pump

Those times sound right for your mods and year evo.

I don't think the STi launches better, but from what I hear it is easier to launch, but you have a 2003 EVO and can launch at higher rpms, so it should be easier or atleast better for you. Your times are ok, I don't know what you ran stock, so it's hard to tell how much you gained from your mods. As far as I know, your car could have been a 13.6@98-99mph car (bone stock), which would mean your car picked up good power now that your trapping 102-103mph. With more practice, you could see very low 13s, and a tune will easily put you in the 12s.

They both launch about the same. The STi's/STI's clutch is surprisingly stout, so he's probably not BSing you. The SSTi/STI is also easier to launch than the Evo. A 1.600 is incredibly low for any stocker, regardless of the make/model.

Normally a TBE will net you about 26 whp in an STi/STI, and with a tune probably about 10-15 more. What is the "turbo mod" you're talking about? If you're unsure, can you find out?

Yes... slow, 1.8 sixty means a descent launch. 102 mph car is not making power. GET A TUNE ASAP! Then go back. You will be hittin high 12's with no problem.
