12s, even if 12.999999999999, at 103 is unbelievable driving. I would be disappointed in 103mph traps in a IX with a tune, though. My guess would be that the 103.0 trap was lower than it should be for some currently unknown reason. You probably were trapping 105-106 (or capable of it) but had a glitch on that one run, because to hit a 12.99 with only a 103 trap, you'd have to have a helluva 60', which is unlikely for being so new to the car and stick shifts in general.

What were your splits, and what were the traps on the other runs?

my 60 was 1.755 for that run i had another run with a 13.11 @ 100.94.. track has about a 2700 ft elevation and it was sorta slippery. I was launching at 6000k and i had a lot of tire spin.

13.11@101 doesn't make sense either without an amazing 60'. 1.755 is quite good for being new and nearly stock, but you would need low 1.6s to pull these times with such low traps. I assume you were at LACR, which does run pretty slow, so I dunno. The ETs are good for the mph - that's about all I can say for sure.

What were the 1/8 mile traps?
Great driving to get 12's for a low trap.

Well honestly that is not too bad, although I think your trap speed could be a little higher. Stock EVOs usually hit mid to high 13s there. If you use their correction factor on their website then your time would be 12.6@106mph, which isn't bad for an EVO with just a flash. The correction factor though is a little controversial, and also doesn't take into account the sometimes harsh weather conditions and sometimes poor track prep, so it's up to you what you want to believe.

The C/F is for N/A cars. That should be common knowledge by now.

those are great times, especially for only driving a stick car 3 months.

stock IX's trap 104-105 pretty consistantly, with a flash I would think your mph should be a little higher then what it was, you might have more power there to pick up.

what were the 1/8th times?

Like I said the correction factor is controversal.

Still with that said it's not a horrible time if compared to others that run down there. I hate LACR, seriously it's just a bad track. Last time I actually ran there was in my modded VR4 I ran 14s@101-102mph (my previous best at another drag strip was 13.4@105mph) I did a couple of runs and packed my sh*t up and swore I'd never return, and I've stuck to that. It's not just the elevation, the wind, wow it is just miserable, blowing sh*t all over the track. The prep was just aweful, actually a better way to say it would be "What prep?!?!" I admit I haven't been back there in years, so maybe it got better.

This whole drag racing scene in So Cal is just getting bad, I waited 2 hours in line at Cal Speedway, just to get turned away because there were too many cars. Tech opened at 7:00AM, I admit I was a little late showing up at 7:15AM, LOL. It was just amazing that 400 cars+ (I say + because they let a couple of so-called special cars slide) were ready to race prior to 7:00AM, they had to turn away at least another 400 cars +. So yes 800 cars or more were ready to race in the early hours of a Saturday morning. Well let's just say that the 400 cars that got turned away had some fun on the streets.

But I do have some good news-
CONSTRUCTION IS IMMINENT !

Is it snowing in Banning yet? Nope...but Christmas has come early for us. On Wednesday November 29, 2006, the FAA released “the 20 acre piece” of land that was needed to build part of the drag strip on. This was actually the final obstacle that needed to be cleared. Therefore, we are happy to say that CONSTRUCTION on DRAG CITY IS NOW IMMINENT!

We really do appreciate all the cooperation that the FAA and the City gave us in allowing us to purchase this property so that we could build a world class drag racing facility for all the racers of Southern California for many years to come. A early MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

well LACR didnt get any better and yes it was very windy that day and the water they sprayed for the cars to burn out in was all over the line where we took off so i was getting a lot of wheel spin, i hadnt very poor traction off the line. Also where is this new track going to be located and when is it expected to be open ??

The new track will be located in Banning, Ca. I'd say about another 20 mins or so east of Cal Speedway. When will it be built, good question, was suppose to have already been built, LOL. But now that all the snags are out of the way, I'd say it should be ready in late summer/early fall 2007.
