I'm here in Orlando visiting Eddie and CFT for War of the Imports. Eddie gave me the opportunity to drive his well put together Evo 8. Car runs strong, and hooks very well. The best time of the day was 10.2 at 125, this is with a 1.48 60ft had some misfire on top of 3rd and I let off in 4th gear. The car was tuned for nitrous however that run we took the bottle off and I believe that caused the car to run rich. With a few adjustments I believe on boost alone 9's, with nitrous definitely a low 9, who knows maybe an 8? I like this 40r, has some potential. Thank you to Eddie and everyone at CFT, they all were very nice and I had a fun time here.

Saw the car run today and it was very impressive.. Like Dan said, the car was breaking up pretty bad in 3rd and let off in 4th, considering these 2 things the car still managed to run an impressive 10.2 on BOOST ONLY ...Once they retune the car again, i am sure the car will run 9s all day!!! Maybe high 8s with spray? Who knows!! Congrats to Danimal on the driving!! Knowing Eddie, he will put the street tires back on and be driving it on the road again

For a moment today i thought my car was an automatic after i saw Dan drive it down the track!! Thank you Danimal for driving my car like it was your own and not holding back..

I like to said thanks Dan for your motivation on getting my evo in to the 9’s I have to say it was fun even if we did not do the 9’s it was great having Dan here , the exhibition of driving it was outstanding in every gear, the car still have more to go!
And i like to take this opportunity to thanks Eric @ AMS for the support and advice,
We are going to go over some minor tuning tweaks and the car will run 9’s all day on boost only!!

Can u guys post the time slip? Your problems seemed to be after the 1/8th mile for the most part, so your 1/8th mile should give you a real good idea of what the car really has in it on boost.

 

top of 3rd was missing and all of 4th. Rolo from CFT made a few adjustments as the timing was low and fuel was rich on this run... didn't get to run it again as it just started to rain when I was staging. Looking at a few of my 9 sec timeslips 1/8 mile, i don't see why a 9.9 wouldn't be possible.
