Pulled up next to an evo, it looks pretty good, i dont like the wing though. The guy rolled down the window, he was prety cool, and asked if he wanted to go, i agreed

off the line we were equal and than i started to pull on him. The car kept up better than I thought, but his was stock, so he has room to improve. beat him by 4-5 car lengths

 

Wow 503hp...you have to respect that kind of power! If I wouldn't have purchased an EVO the new 03 Cobra would have been the car I would have gone with!

 

I think that guy was banned....along with some other guy who claimed he had a geo storm that beat an EVO....

I think they were pulling it all out of their asses

motortrend did a comparo....evo takes the 0-60 time 4.59 to 4.82 but the svt edged it out in the 1/4 mile 13.01 to 13.08. 4-5 car lengths is a bit of an exaggeration..

 

I talked a bit with SVT03Cobra before he got banned, and he was pretty cool to me.

Please remember, his car has over 500 horsepower, almost 150 more than a stock 03 Cobra. He is pretty well known on the Cobra boards (the one's that bashed the Evo when it came out) and the stuff I've seen on his car indicates he's being honest when it comes to his power ratings.

It's very possible he won by 4 plus lengths. Don't hate on someone just because they got banned.

 

yea....maybe you evo guys have a prayer...and i mean "distant' prayer stock...but with a modded cobra you are spanked HARD.....those cars will do 11's......my buddy had an 03 cobra....chip, catback....and did 12.0.........on a 88 degree day......he later put on a pulley and intake.......never took it to the track again but i bet it would do mid 11's all day long.......i had a stage 2 wrx (which is good for 13.3-5) and he CRUSHED ME...HARD....not even a race so 4 cars sounds like you got off light....anyone who doubts that doesn't know crap about either of these cars......

 

as a matter of fact......my friend's cobra I believe was only dyno'ed at 460 or 470whp when he did his original mods (minus the pulleys/intake).........so if this guy has over 500 whp you guys don't stand a prayer with a stock or even modded evo unless you have serious mods on the car.......i rode in that car and i have never seen anything pull like that car...ever...he spanked z06's...vipers.......never lost a race.....my sti is quick but a modded cobra is different.....

 

btw...what's with this "banned" stuff....what, you ban guys if you can't accept that their cars are actually better than yours?


Please understand that I am rarely on here and maybe this guy has posted other threads that have led to his baning.....but if this is the only thread he posted and you guys banned him cause you can't deal with getting spanked....guess you will be doing alot of banning in the near future cause the evo will get spanked...again and again

 

BlackWRX i agree that stock Cobras are fast as hell and with just a good set of sticky tires they should be able to out drag an Evo by 1/2 a second. But don't come on an Evo forum and talk about getting spanked again and again.Are cars are fairly equal in alot of areas but the Evo has more potential then the STI. Wish you well on your upgrades on a car that detonates out of the box.OUT!
