I still don't understand how you can be allowed on a circle track when it obviously has very expensive insurance that does not cover such frivolous things as 2 people doing random roll races, but hey, maybe the owner just doesn't care?

Also, you say you think it will be easy to hit 130 on the straightaway portion of this circle track. Do you mean it's an oval track? It's going to take you about half a mile to reach 130. This circle track is about 1.5 miles in total length?

Man, our local forum has an annual drag racing event. Last year, I took my VIII out on pump gas map, but some race gas in the tank and bumped up the boost a couple pounds for good measure. All these modded 03-04 Cobras were there and they love to talk mad smack on the internet. Funny thing is, even on slicks they weren't that fast. Some of their traps were higher than mine, but out of like 7 of them (all modded), only one was faster, and he had an aftermarket supercharger. And he only beat me by a little more than a tenth.

I hate_hate_hate_HATE Mustangs. I grew up owning a couple of F bodies, so that's probably why. Mustangs are overweight pigs, have an ancient suspension design, and handle like dog crap. The only ones that looked like a lot of fun in the past 25 years to me would be the turbo 4 SVOs or that uber badass Cobra R track star circa 2000-2001.

I thought the stock turbo runs out of efficiency after 26 lbs... also, the stock head can only hold around 26psi without stretching the head bolts right?

Nobody has streched the head bolts on an Evo yet... So we don't know the answer to that.

I CAN tell you, that on my stock turbo at 27psi nothing got stretched. Though i can't guarentee i was being efficient either...

Yes, but if you run 29-30psi peak, it won't hold that boost all the way. It will taper down to 21-22psi by 7k as it loses efficiency. It does make good power above 26psi at lower rpms.

circle tracks dont have straights. Maybe an oval track is what you're talking about?

Putting the circle track debate aside for a min.

I ran a 03 with a very similar setup with MT's from a dig and won by several car lenghts but my setup was much different than yours. Now from a roll I know its going to be alot more difficult and going to 130 wont help you out either.

But IMHO whats going to win this race will be dependant on how good the driver is assuming both cars are equally matched.

From a roll I would guess the cobra would win thats just my guess.

No, it would not cause ANY PROBLEMS on a stock car. I can't understand why you keep saying that. Not sure what you did wrong on your car, but it is NOT NORMAL.
this is where i become confused, are in fact saying that he has a tune for a pump gas run or for race gas?

My 2003 Cobra put down 380 to the wheels bone stock down to the paper filter.

I sold it after buying the evo. With a simple pulley swap and re-tune, add around 80-100 hp. With headers and exhaust, well, you get the idea.

A good tire and you are toast.

here is a webpage I made of mine

I am thinking probably not. A guy at my track runs consistent 11.7-11.8 @ 117-118, but he has a pulley swap. He gets like 1.5-.1.6 60's too so his launch is fine.

On a side note I had a stock cobra talking crap one time when I raced @ speedworld down in Phoenix. He was saying "why don't all you ricers go warm up your turbos." Lets just say his 13.5 wasn't quite enough to really be talking that much crap.

The race in question should be a pretty good one. I think it could go either way.

I raced a cobra with an exhaust, pulley and chip at an 1/8 track and had him beat by 2 car lengths but ended up missing 3rd and lost by about 1 cars length
