ok, I think I have found the problem.
Took the mbc apart today and cleaned/lubed it. Noticed that the line going to the wg was cracked at the bottom, surely leaking air. I usually check boost in 3rd gear, where it was normal. My guess is that in 4th it was creeping higher than 23psi, resulting in knock. Honestly I as watching the tach and track more so than the boost gauge. So I did not have any extra line anywhere, and I just hooked it from the signal to wg for now (no mbc). Should get me to the weekend when I can put some silicone lines on it. I have had probs with the rubber ones cracking before.
Also checked boost leaks, none found to 24psi (checker would not stay on past that). Plugs looked alright, a lil white, so that would supports the lean condition from overboost (I think?).
This sound logical?
