First time at the dragstrip..

Well I made my first ever drag strip passes today. Pretty pleased with the results for a first time outing. I am in the right lane both times (car 615) first run on the right, second run on the left. I only got two passes due to not parking the car in the staging lanes after run one

Mods are:
2006 Evo IX mr
Buschur 3" TBE no cat
Buschur Filter
Forge mbc set at 23psi tapering to 19 at redline
custom tune from Al (car did 280/280 at Buschur's dyno)
Ran on pump 93
FWIW - Car was 1/2 tank gas, speaker box in trunk with 2 amps, spare tire and jack and laptop in back seat. No weight reduction at all. Tires are Falken fk-451's, 245/45/17.

Please comment and give advice, suggestion, critisicm! This was a great learning expierence and I hope to get some feedback on what to improve.

Thanks!

Other car was having probs, hence the times on his slip.

I didn't even watch the tree really. I was just trying to get a good launch.

The car has not felt as strong last couple months, and the mph I felt did seem low. I was expecting around 112mph or so.

No, didn't get a chance too. I figure it is. Car would pull really strong in 1-3 and seemed to fall off towards the top of 4th. I am going to do some logging this weekend, check plugs, boost leak check etc.

gotta take some weight out. Why race with 100+ pounds of extra weight. Your being a little bit harder on the car with every extra pound. Plus you probably would have a slightly better 60' and better et. If you know your going to go race do your car a favor and take out the extra stuff.

Yeah, next time all the excess stuff will be out. It was a spur of the moment thing. Today was more of a learning day, get a feel for the car, track etc. Atleast I have something as a foundation to build on now.

Good driving on the 12.3, but you can definitely see a power dropoff up top, because you trapped 88.5 in the 1/8th but only 109 in the 1/4. It should have gone from 88 to 112 at least, so something is wrong up top.
